Wanna protest? Actually fuking target the things the government and state leaders ACTUALLY cares about. They don't give a flying fuk about fireworks, about parties, about a holiday. They don't care. If they did, they'll just hold their own celebrations.
All they care about is power. In fact, boycotting July 4th celebrations and just sitting back keeps them in control. Someone boycotts your birthday and you don't care, you're feeling more in control because you angered them enough to stay away.
Celebrate the idea of independence. How about that? Show them you instead love freedom and not whatever tf is going on right now.
Me? I'm going to enjoy the fireworks they have every year down at the park with my family. I don't exactly have any clothes that match the 4th Of July theme. But I'm still gonna enjoy some fireworks.
You think the government will care if I, someone who sits in my room almost 24/7 and doesn't have a life outside of the screen, doesn't watch some fireworks?
I get it, this ban on abortions is BS. The leaders of my own state don't even want to make assault or something an excuse for abortions. States are trying to ban women from traveling to a state to get one, which is basically like keeping them in a cage like an animal. I fear for my safety as a woman, and for my sisters safety. Assault is something someone does for control, and making it so a woman HAS to carry his child from the assault is just giving him more control. He could even get part custody sometimes, meaning he's stuck in her life. And this scares me to death.
But not shooting off fireworks? How tf is this a protest against that? How is sitting back on our devices saying "FUK THE GOVERNMENT! I'M NOT CELEBRATING!!!' gonna do ANYTHING?
I personally can't protest at some big gov place because I don't want to possibly die and leave my family, or get seriously injured because of my car accident injuries and I'm small.
I'll protest by biting my assaulter and try to run away or use anything as a weapon, and smile if I get arrested. But I'm not gonna ignore fireworks like the government and state leaders actually care.
