I AM BACK FROM THE DEPTHS OF HIATUS!!!

Thank you! Thank you! It's good to be back!

And I have come to a decision that might hurt some of you. I've decided to just write one-shots whenever I feel like it. Of course, I'll aim to do around 2 per week (I can promise 1 though) but they will be irregular.

Anywayz, here's a nice one! Inspired by an old book I've read called Rift.

AU:
Medieval
Prince Kirishima
Knight Kaminari
Warnings:
None

A bit of Kamikiri for you (Kami got a growth spurt)!

[No one's POV]

"Come on, my prince!" Kaminari nags again, though a little quietly, so he didn't get caught communicating in an inappropriate manner with a man of pure royal blood.

It was always risky for Eijiro to even consider leaving the castle. For as long as he could remember, he had stayed within these palace walls. Maybe because he was one of the few pure-blooded princes left, which gave him extra value to hold hostage. Maybe because of the brewing tension between the Kirishima kingdom and various others, mainly because they were dissatisfied with the public, here, being treated as near equals. Or maybe because Eijiro simply had the fairest beauty known to man, with a heart of gold to match.

He really was, to Kaminari, God's finest creation.

Nonetheless, with knowledge of the taken risks, Kaminari was firm with his desire in dragging the prince out to the festival that was on tonight. For as long as Kaminari had worked for the Kirishimas, he knows every month, when this festival had taken place, Eijiro would stand by his window and watch the festivities. There was no real importance to it, but the villages love to celebrate their freedom and their respect for the Kirishimas and God. Kaminari hated to see the prince watching them from a distance, that same longing look in his eyes of wanting to enjoy the festival, even though he remained bound behind castle walls.

Though, tonight, he was determined to break those shackles and give the sweet prince what he wanted. Eijiro, on the other hand, didn't seem entirely convinced to defy his parents.

"As much as I would like to, Kaminari, I don't believe leaving my home would be... right for my parents." His voice was laced with nothing but disappointment, as if he were forced to say what he said against his will, almost like a speech.

And Kaminari was not willing to let this opportunity slide.

"My prince seriously! You have been stuck in this house for the past, like... seventeen years! Can't you just, for one night... have a little bit of fun? Besides, your parents are already under the impression that you are obedient and you stay here all the time. So, surely if we sneak out, for just a couple of hours, your parents wouldn't notice?"

Eijiro opens his mouth to protest but Kaminari cuts him off before he even finished making a sound - thank the lord no one had caught him behaving in such an improper way.

"I've told most of the other nights, they will definitely cover for your disappearance. If we leave in a few minutes, we can get there in time for the main events! Please, Eijiro! You can wear a disguise so no one would notice you there! I swear I will take full responsibility an-"

"KAMINARI!"

It was rare for the prince to snap. He was normally civil but, at that point, his decision was final.

"I... have heard enough..."

He sighs, gulping down the tightness in his throat.

"And I have been swayed. I will come with you, so long as you arrange the attire I will wear to conceal my identity. However, I hope that the..." He scans the room momentarily. "Escape plan has been thoroughly thought through."
