[No one's POV]

Eijiro was seven when he first decided to ask his parents how they fell in love. During his time at elementary, they were introduced to the concept of love and marriage and Eijiro, a young boy who's parents were both female, did have a few questions about falling for the same sex or, in general, being attracted to an individual.

"It's like a soulmate thing, I guess," Keno said, pinching her chin in thought. Her wife settled down beside her, handing her a coffee whilst sipping one of her own. "We used to go to class together in uni, and it took a while before I'd noticed her. Your mom dropped her books and I helped her pick them up!"

Eijiro didn't pay mind when his mom placed a quick peck to Keno's cheek.

"Then, we couldn't keep our eyes off each other! Heck, I even tried to drop my own books on purpose! And, eventually, we started talking then got together bla bla bla you get the idea!"

Eijiro frowned a cute frown, folding his arms in bewilderment.

"But how did you know you liked each other?"

His mom laughed, her sharp teeth gleaming in the sunlight.

"It's weird, Ei! You just... you look at their face and you suddenly have this rush of... happiness! And then you feel complete! I can't really describe it to you any more than that - not even Keno can! But you'll know when you're older!"

Ah, the classic adult line - you'll know when you're older. Another experience Eijiro couldn't wait to go through for the future!

And who was to say that he couldn't go through it right this moment!

Currently, Eijiro is a fresh college graduate, a few weeks into his new job as a manager of a business company. As it was a small business, staff weren't required to wear formal attire, so there he was, in the middle of winter, dressed in a thick sweater and a beige scarf that fluttered behind him in the wind. He was lucky to get his hands on some warm wooly gloves and a coffee that day, sipping the warm caramel beverage as his smart boots pressed imprints into the fresh snow. There was supposed to be a snowstorm coming sometime that week, so Eijiro wanted to get to his apartment quickly so he could get the heater running before it struck.

There were only a few cars out, the road being too icy to ride on quickly. It was too cold anyway. Either way, Eijiro liked the solitude and the occasional warmth coming from the street lights above. It felt like something straight from a movie, and he can't help but snuggle further into his hoodie, pull his beanie on tighter, and prepare for the unexpected.

And the unexpected certainly came!

Just as he turned the corner of what appeared to be a cosy restaurant, he bumps into another body, releasing a surprised yelp as he falls to the floor. The floor was cold. His back was cold. But his stomach was warm.
