Jungkook had lead me towards the balcony that was in our room instead of Yerim's as he wanted a more quiet space. I didn't blame him as it was chaotic, their screams and happy shouts are like muffled whispers from here.

"What do you normally do on your birthdays?" Jungkook questioned me curiously, gazing at me intently. We were leaning over the balcony railing to stare at the view surrounding us. Our shoulders were touching and Jungkook have linked his arms with mine for comfort.

"My birthdays were quite irrelevant," I mumbled, staring at the sparkly white stars on the sky.

"Why would you say that?" Jungkook asked and I prop my head on his shoulder. "Birthdays are important as it marked the day you were born and brought into this world," He explained.

"Well... the last time I celebrated my birthday was when I was four," I murmured, as the memory was quite hazy. "Ever since my dad left us to pursue his dream, I was barely 12 months old," I mumbled and Jungkook nodded, asking me to continue. "Me, my mother and my grandparents lived in poverty for an entire ten years as my mom was a housewife. It was hard for my mother to find a job and support us and my grandparents were too old to work."

I paused for a bit to take a deep breath. It was heart-breaking to repeat the story of my childhood but I wanted to share it with someone for the first time.

"It wasn't that bad because my dad still leave some money to help us," I said. "When I've reached the age of four, my mum wanted to celebrate my birthday before I start kindergarten. She had bought an extremely expensive cake and I felt really special. As a four year old, I had understand and grasp the situation that we were in and told my mum to celebrate it as my last birthday."

"What does that mean?" Jungkook asked, frowning at the railing as he listen intently.

"It means that I no longer want to celebrate my birthday due to the amount of money we had. I wanted to save the money for education as I knew it was more important than some cake that wouldn't last a lifetime," I murmured and Jungkook head creases as though he was annoyed.

"Y/N..." He started, exhaling enigmatically. "You were so young and you already matured that much, you know how terrible I feel right now?"

"What do you mean?" I questioned, smiling reassuringly at him. "Is fine, despite living under difficult circumstances I still have a happy childhood as I promise my mum to keep a positive mindset."

"But still..." Jungkook pouted at me but I continue keeping a reassuringly smile.

"Overtime, my grandparents develop extreme sickness due to senescence and the hospital bills was exorbitant. At that time I was in year 3 and luckily, the principal have helped us by providing my education free of all cost due to my grades being outstanding," I can't help but flex a little and Jungkook smirked.. "I get to skip year 4 and 5 and in year 6, my grandparents passed away and I was around nine years old. It was devastating for both of us but together, we supported each other."

"At least you have someone," Jungkook smiled happily. "If only I've met you earlier..."

I giggled. "When I started middle school, my mum found a good job that pays her well and we've been living such a nice life ever since. It was as though it was my grandparents gift after they die."

"How come you've never celebrated your birthday afterwards?" Jungkook asked me and I shrugged.

"I wanted to focus on my education and I kind of forgotten about my birthday sometimes..." I said in embarrassment and he laughs. "Thanks for listening... I appreciated it."

"No, no is fine!" He reassured. "What am I here for? Tell me all your worries and concerns. As my girlfriend, you should only be happy, not sad."

"Same for you," I replied. staring at him with a big smile. "You better tell me all your worries and concerns too!"

"Hehe," Jungkook giggled. "Do you have any future plans? What do you want to do when you come out of university? He asked and I hummed softly.

"I want to be you." I decided and I could notice the glowing appreciation on his face that shines brighter that the stars. "I'm not exactly sure what I want to do when I graduated but I just want to be with you till the end."

"Same. I'll probably help my dad with the school and take over his position once he retires, but sometimes it depends," He murmured, folding his arms. "I also want to meet your mother... I want to see how she's like."

Oh-

"Well, she can be quite embarrassing sometimes," I mumbled, laughing it off as I remembered the times she had embarrassed me in front of boys that she considered hot.

"That's alright. Parents embarrassing their children are cute and funny," He smiles in amusement and I glowered at him. The audacity he sometimes brings, ugh. "By the way, I promise to only love you and no one else."

"Do you need to promise?" I said, my voice growing bubbly while my smile grew bigger. "I promise too."

"Well, I don't think anything terrible will happen that will force us to be apart," Jungkook said confidently and his eyes twinkled. "After all, our love will lead the way for us like a guiding star."

"Have you ever heard, 'My laptop may crash, and my cell phone may get lost. My camera may cease to flash, and my car may combust. But you, my dear, will never fail me.'?" I asked him and he gave a broad grin. "That's exactly how I'm feeling towards you, Kookie."

"Well, have you heard, 'The sun brightens the day, and the moon brightens the night'," He pointed over at the moon but I kept my gaze on him. "'But you brighten my life', that's exactly how I'm feeling towards you, my blueberry," He whispers into my ear, leaning in to connect our lips while the stars shine down on us.
