Laila's POV

"What's happening to him?" I asked as Scott helped Deaton get Isaac onto an operating table.

"Sophie, you might want to take Laila out to the lobby." Deaton said calmly, looking over at her.

"What about Isaac?" I reminded him as Isaac let out a groan of pain.

I took a step towards him, pausing when Sophie grabbed my arm. She wordlessly pulled me out of the room, ignoring my protests.

Lydia stood up at the sight of me, her wide eyes meeting mine. "What happened?"

I turned to Sophie, waiting for her answer since I was unsure of what was going on.

"He wasn't healing." I pointed out, stepping away from her as she only frowned.

"It was probably a wolfsbane bullet." she finally explained, cringing as I heard the sound of a scream.

"What're they doing to him?"

"Helping him. And the only thing you can do right now is stay here and stay calm."

"They're hurting him."

"It's part of the process. It's either that or he dies."

I shut my eyes, trying to drown out the noise of him yelling in pain as I felt Lydia's hand on my shoulder.

"What about Aiden?" Ethan questioned, getting out of his seat.

"Deaton can only work on one person at a time. He'll help him."

I lifted my head as the screams stopped, immediately taking off towards the room Isaac was in. I stopped in the doorway, seeing him sitting up, although his body was hunched over. His shirt was cut open, enough to cut out the bullet or do whatever they had done.

I ran over to him, cupping his face in my hands as his unfocused eyes looked up at me.

"Are you ok?" I let one of my hands drop down to his chest, carefully avoiding the area he had been shot.

He didn't answer, only leaning forward to drop his head onto my shoulder as his breathing began to slow. His hands came out to grab my waist, his grip tight as he pulled me closer to him.

I let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding, moving my hand up to his hair as I felt my eyes shut again, this time in relief.

I jumped as I heard the screams start up again, this time coming from the next room, from Aiden.

"We didn't get to ride the ferris wheel." Isaac's voice brought my attention back to him as I laughed, thankful for his ability to cheer me up, even in this situation.

"We will one day. I'm just glad you're ok."

***

"Tired?" I assumed, knelt down by the couch they'd moved Isaac to.

My hand stroked his cheek, letting my fingers continually rub the skin.

His only answer was a yawn, his body shifting around to get more comfortable.

"Get some sleep." I leaned forward to press a kiss to his cheek, giving him a soft smile. "I'll be here when you wake up."

I stood up as his eyes fell shut, his body slumping onto the couch. I walked out into the lobby, my eyes glancing over everyone. Ethan was the only one still awake, everyone sleeping in their chairs.

"How's Aiden?" I asked, walking over to him.

"He's fine."

I nodded my head, sending him a quick smile before starting towards the other room. I knocked on the door, opening it enough so Aiden could see it was me.

"Does your boyfriend know you're here?" he joked, slowly sitting up.

"He's sleeping but I'm sure he wouldn't mind. I'm just here to make sure you're ok."

"I'm fine."

"Can I get you anything? Something to drink or eat?"

"Why are you being nice to me?"

"I was just trying to be polite."

"I kidnapped you, helped hold you hostage and you're worried about being polite?"

"You also helped me escape."

"What happened to not trusting me? I remember you yelling something about how I was one of the bad guys."

"I don't trust you. It doesn't mean I want you to starve or die of thirst." I pointed out, shrugging one of my shoulders.

"Well then, thanks, I guess."

I made a move to leave, turning back when he called my name.

"Does that mean you forgive me?"

"Are you apologizing?"

"Maybe."

"I'll think about it. Get some rest, Aiden."
