This darling is calm, cold and is in an organization that is aimed at punishing people who behave incorrectly (like treating people badly.)
He does enjoy how calm they are and doesn't mind their coldness.
He thinks that the work they do is wonderful. (of course, anything they do is wonderful to him.)
Now it is inevitable that they are going to have to...punish him.
Given how he feels about some people (reserve course department students.)
He understands what his darling has to do and is willing for their sake.
They probably won't change how he feels about the reserve course department so the punishes will continue.
He still praises his darling's work and how they hold it.
If his darling ever did just ask him to stop talking bad about the reserve course department he would... or at least not talk about it when they are around.
