Lacey was sat at a desk in Bobby's basement, watching as Dean packed the Phoenix ashes into shotgun shells.
"Hey. How you doing?" Sam asked as he and Bobby descended the stairs to the basement.
"Five shells. That's how I'm doing." Dean replied, not looking up from his work.
"Well, you know, it's a hell of a lot more than what we had last week." Sam reasoned.
"Maybe." Dean shrugged.
"Meaning?"
"Meaning, I just had myself a little mishap a few minutes ago, and uh, well, here look." Dean tipped a small amount of the ashes onto his arm and rubbed it across the skin, to no affect.
"Whoa."
"Huh." Bobby grunted thoughtfully.
"I mean this stuff is supposed to burn the bejeezus out of Eve, doesn't even give me a sunburn."
"Lore says it works." Bobby reminded them.
"That's always reliable." Dean muttered.
"Well, you know what, maybe it's like uh, iron and silver, you know? Hurts them, not us."
"Maybe." Dean admitted. "But a fat lot of good it does us 'til we find the bitch."
"I'm looking, but I'm thinking it's time you made a call." Dean sighed and got to his feet, cleaning the ashes off his hand with a rag.
"Why has it always got to be me that makes the call, huh? It's not like Cas lives in my ass. The dude's busy!" There was a whooshing noise and Lacey bit her lip, trying not to giggle, as Cas appeared behind Dean. Dean glanced at her unconvincing mask before turning around. "Cas get out of my ass!" Cas looked at him, confused.
"I was never in your..." Dean gave him a look and Lacey broke completely now, laughing hysterically. "Have you made any progress in locating Eve?"
"Well we were gonna ask you about that." Bobby replied as Lacey tried to compose herself.
"No, I've looked but she's hidden from me. She's hidden from all angels."
"Awesome." Dean sighed.
"Maybe I can try and find her telepathically?" Lacey suggested.
"You can try, but seeing as you are part angel too, I have a feeling you will be blocked just as I am." Cas told her. Lacey closed her eyes and concentrated. The four of them watched her hopefully. A few minutes passed before she opened her eyes again and shook her head.
"Sorry, I'm not getting anything. Probably doesn't help that I've never met her so I don't know exactly who I'm looking for. If there was a version of cerebro in this world I might have had more luck, but without it, I can't see her."
"You know what we really need is an inside man." Sam suggested.
"What do you mean?"
"Something with claws and sympathy."
"Like a friendly monster? Those are in short supply these days, don't you think?" Dean noted. Sam shrugged.
"Sure, but we've met one or two right?"
"Maybe."
"So we can find one."

A short while later there was another Whoosh and Cas reappeared with a woman in tow.
"Lenore." Sam said, getting her attention. She glanced at him for a second before trying to make a break for the stairs. "Wait, wait, wait. Hey, Lenore stop, we're happy you're here." Sam grabbed her arm as he spoke, finally getting her to look at him properly.
"Been a long time. You remember us?" Dean asked.
"I remember. Your hunter friend almost killed me." Lenore reminded them. Lacey stepped forward.
"We've never met, I'm Lacey." Lenore shied back away from her. "Okay..." Lacey went to stand beside Dean.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, he turned into a vampire and I chopped his head off."
"Yeah, with razor wire. Wicked." Dean smiled at the memory.
"That's another story you need to tell me later." Lacey told him.
"Well, that's something." Lenore nodded. "What's going on? Why am I here?"
"Well um, that's Cas." Sam nodded towards him. "He's our friend. And we need to talk to you...about Eve." Lenore practically snarled.
"Eve? I have nothing to say about Eve."
"You sure about that?"
"I'm trying to stay away from her, believe me."
"Where's your nest?" Sam asked.
"Gone. They couldn't fight it anymore. It's her voice, in our heads. What it does to us. So they left. Started killing again."
"But not you."
"Don't look so impressed. I was hiding in a basement. Not exactly Club Med. You don't know how hard it is, not to give in. Everyone gives in."
"Alright so this psychic two-way you've got going, does that mean you know where Mom's camped out?" Dean asked.
"You've got to be kidding me. You want me to tell you where she is? You do know she could be listening to us right now? I might as well be a video camera. What are you thinking?" Lenore looked at them in shock.
"So we don't have the element of surprise, we're still going in."
"You're crazy. I can't help you."
"Can't or won't? Look, it's clear as day. You still give a crap. You don't wanna kill. And don't want this whole planet dead."
"You actually believe you can stop her?"
"Just tell us where she is." Lenore let out a sigh.
"Grants Pass, Oregon. And now she knows you're coming."
"Well let's go see." Bobby suggested, they all began to head for the door. Lenore stopped them.
"Hold on. I didn't tell you this out of the goodness of my heart. I need something.
"What?"
"Kill me."
"Lenore." Sam protested.
"Look, we'll lock you down 'til this whole thing's over, okay? Witness protection, you'll be safe." Dean reassure her.
"You don't get it, it's not about that. I'm dangerous. I hear her voice all the time."
"You're not like the rest of them." Sam told her.
"I'm exactly like them. I fed. I couldn't help it. The girl couldn't have been more than 16, Sam. I'll do it again. I can't stop, not anymore. You have to. Please." Lenore begged.
