The Twins and The Twin Horns

(One Year Later)

I've now been in this world for two years and awakened as a mage a year ago. It took me over ten months to figure out mana rotation, but I finally did it. I was now able to continuously absorb mana, like Arthur can. I had no clue how he figured it out in under four months, but he did have Sylvia.

My core was at the solid red stage, I think that mana rotation helped me get past dark red.

Over the past year my father has been doing these small training sessions with me to build up my muscular strength, and since I was able to enhance my body with mana. It made me an augmenter, like my father.

Augmenters can enhance their body with the mana inside of their core using the mana channels in their body. The better control you have over your mana channels, the stronger you are. 

Then there were conjurers, who can expend mana into the outside world, but needed to supplement their core before they could use their magic. They did this by using their mana veins, which pulled mana into their body from the atmosphere into their core. 

I planned on being able to do both, that's why I was working with both mana veins and mana channels.

The only issue with my awakening was Ellie. Surprisingly, Lilia was super excited for me and always cheered me on, but I could tell my sister was upset. Since we both could talk, I was little better at it. We became a lot closer.

If I wasn't training, I was with Ellie and Lilia. It seemed like Lilia became our babysitter most of the time. When my mom and Aunty Tabitha went into Xyrus, she was in charge. 

However, when Ellie and I do get to go along with mom, the sight of Xyrus City still gives me chills, good ones. The city was absolutely beautiful.

At the moment, Lilia, Ellie, and I were playing in the backyard. I missed being able to walk around and play around freely, without having to worry about my heart. 

"Yur it!" Ellie screamed as she touched my shoulder. "Rember no mana." 

I ran after Ellie without mana and tried to tag her. "Come get me Veer!" Lilia shouted, and I turned to her instead.

When I started to run at her, my mother's voice called out. "Kids! There are guests here to see you." As I turned to look up at my mother, my eyes went wide. 

Standing on the top of the stairs with my mother, were the Twin Horns, my father's old adventurer party. I didn't know if they would show up or not before Arthur came home. I should have realized that they would want to see Alice and Rey's new children.

Helen, Adam, Angela, Jasmine, and Durden were all staring down at us. Ellie walked up slowly next to me. Lilia waved to them; she must have met them already.

They all slowly started to descend the stairs.

Helen was the first one to say anything. "You two must be Veer and Ellie." She patted both of us on the head. "It's good to meet you two."

"Hi." Ellie said shyly.

"It's nice to meet you." I said normally. 

"I hear you awakened early, like your brother." Helen stood back up and looked at my mother. "Is he exactly like Arthur?"

"Yeah, sort of, he doesn't spend as much time in the library, but he loves to train with his father."

"Let's hope he isn't a monster like your other son." Adam chimed in. "That kid is dangerous for his age." Durden hit Adam in the arm. "Oww! I'm just joking." 

Durden was gigantic. He bent down and smiled at Ellie and I, then he placed his hands on both our heads and stood up.

Angela came over and picked me up. "He is just as adorable as Arthur was." My face was buried in her chest, and instead of someone helping me, everyone laughed. Then she placed me on the ground and did the same thing too Ellie.
