King David, yesterday's entry (David Fears God), and King Solomon in Proverbs,
today - I guess I will fear the LORD. I do fear God, but sometimes I feel that I don't fear Him enough. The more I think about it, the more confused I get. I love and respect God; but do I really and truly fear Him?
David feared God because God killed Uzza, and David didn't know what to do with the ark. I think I need to strengthen my fear, as well as my faith. This leads me back to one of my favorite verses. I cannot lie, I remembered the verse, but had no clue where it came from; good thing it is on my bathroom mirror -
"And to man He said,
'Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding.' "
Job 28:28
This doesn't contradict the other verse - it says the beginning of knowledge. This is where I still am, at the beginning. God has increased my knowledge, but I am far from being wise. Tell God that you love Him!
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
