Time For God

This One Strengthened My Faith

     But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you---
     therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith.
                   1 Thessalonians 3:6,7

     Faith is such a good thing and gives me warmth.  I was thinking earlier - I have faith in God but not so much in myself.  Sounds weird even to me, but sometimes we might not like the change of God's will. 
     God said, "Hi," again; just listen or read and decide for yourself.  I am watching, MASTER AND COMMANDER with Russell Crowe.  There is an old sailor with the words "hold fast" tattooed on his fingers.  I continued reading 1 Thessalonians 3:8 -

     For now we live, if you stand fast in the LORD.

     I thought his fingers said "hold fast," but I had to rewind and check.  I was a little disappointed to see, "hold fast" on his fingers.  I continued reading because I love God's Word.  I had to smile as I typed that. 
      1 Thessalonians is short with only five chapters, besides I wanted to read about the Resurrection, Christ's Second Coming, and the Day of the Lord.  I wasn't thinking, just reading, and then I saw it, chapter 5
verse 21 -

     Test all things; hold fast what is good. 

      Can you believe that?  There are the words "hold fast" that were tattooed on the old sailor's hands in MASTER AND COMMANDER. 

      Three things amaze me about this -

      1.  I was gonna put in a different DVD but decided that I would after the Bible entry.
      2.  I continued reading after seeing the words, "stand fast."
      3.  And of course, seeing the words, "hold fast." 
 
      God knows; I think He has a sense of humor - I know He does.  When I saw the words "hold fast" I couldn't stop laughing.  I don't think that He is telling me anything, rather saying, "Hi" and "I know what you are doing."  Finally, I felt He was saying, "I know how to strengthen your faith."  It worked.  Thank you Father and I love you - tell God the same. 

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
