Jeremiah 9:8

Their tongue is an arrow shot out;
It speaks deceit;
One speaks peaceably to his neighbor
with his mouth,
But in his heart he lies in wait.
Jeremiah 9:8

What is he waiting for? Probably waiting for something to give him an advantage over his neighbor. The metaphor of the tongue being an arrow couldn't be more accurate.
I think we have all said things that we regretted. I feel that some things shot out of my mouth before I was ready; no thinking, I just blurted out something stupid. It would help, during these times, if I could slow down the process, or maybe shut my mouth.
This is a little out of context from the above verse, because God is mad at Jerusalem. He warns us of deceit, but it is difficult to translate sometimes. I want to think only the best of people, and I do want to trust them. The Holy Spirit will help; I will need it (the help). Tell God you love Him.

This is a faithful saying:

     For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
     If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
     If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
     If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
     He cannot deny Himself.
           2 Timothy 2:11-13
