Thus says the LORD:

Damascus, and for four,
I will not turn away its punishment,
Because they have threshed Gilead
with implements of iron.

The reference verses are Isaiah 8:4; 17:1-3 and 2 Kings 10:32,33 - I will get to these in a little bit. But for now, God doesn't forget, many bad things will surface. I believe the Syrians threshing the Gileadites would be like a modern-day man with a gun fighting a man with a knife. Need I say more? A little anyway - tell God that you love Him.
This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
