"For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
"And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manager."
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
"Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace,
goodwill toward men!"
Luke 2:11-14
I felt heat on this one, and how deserving it is - a Savior, who is Christ the Lord is born. Wow! I imagined a perfect baby, so peaceful and warm, wrapped in swaddling cloths.
The Babe is calm and looking at people with the knowledge and wisdom which can only be given by God His Father. His soft eyes are filled with loving kindness and mercy. He knows, even at birth, His love and sacrifice will honor the One who sent Him. What a great reason to get on your knees and tell God that you love Him!
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
