And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
"But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."
Luke 22:31,32
Peter, as Jesus says, will deny Him three times. Simon Peter was willing to die for Jesus; needless to say, he wept bitterly because of what he did, denying Christ three times. The reference verse sums it up best -
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about you like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
1 Peter 5:8
The devil is out there waiting to pounce, especially on the faithful. We all have our vices in man's world, and hopefully we have learned to overcome them; regardless, they, as well as the devil, won't go away. Remember that the Holy Spirit will fill your every need. Tell God that you love Him!
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
