"Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
Matthew 23:19
Yes, for anyone reading these, this is two verses from yesterday's verse. I think God is saying that the altar and the temple don't need gifts or gold to display their greatness. The gifts and gold are nice, but by no means replace this greatness.
Some people choose to show love in dollar amounts. The greater the gift the more the love, or so they think. God just cares about your love - PERIOD. Tell Him that you love Him.
This is a faithful saying:
For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him.
If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.
If we are faithless,
He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself.
