Tyre

Be ashamed, O Sidon;
For the sea has spoken,
The strength of the sea, saying,
"I do not labor, nor bring forth
children;
Neither do I rear young men,
Nor bring up virgins."
When the report reaches Egypt,
They also will be in agony at the
report of Tyre.
Isaiah 23:4,5

     Had to do some serious research on this one, posted this last night.  Modern-day cities of Sidon and Tyre are in Lebanon. Tyre is referred to as a daughter of Sidon.  And speaking of daughters of Sidon, Jezebel's father Ethbaal, was the king of Sidon.
     To help understand Tyre, there are two of them, one on the mainland and one is an island.  The island was eventually destroyed by Alexander the Great and later sunk into the ocean.  These verses refer to the coming downfall.  And Egypt, and I could be wrong, is upset because it probably received goods from the island of Tyre.
     So the Bible, when talking about Tyre being totally destroyed, it is referring to the island of Tyre.  I always feel, and I know, there is much more to the story.  I grow more and more amazed each time God grants me new knowledge, and I am so grateful.  Tell God you love Him.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

     Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  Please read your Bible.
