Damon was in his bed and heard Elijah's conversation with Elena, Ariana, Nathan, and Stefan. He got up, went downstairs and joined them.

"Tonight is a full moon. We should assume that Klaus is prepared to break the curse." Klaus spoke.

"Ana said that the Sun and the Moon curse is fake? That it's actually just a curse placed on Klaus." Stefan mentioned.

"Klaus is a vampire born of a werewolf bloodline. The curse has kept his werewolf aspect from manifesting. But if he breaks it, he'll be a true hybrid." Elijah stated.

Damon suddenly joined them.

"Then why are we letting him break the curse? We can kill him today. With Bonnie."

"Damon--"

"No." Elena cut Nathan off. "Bonnie can't use that much power without dying."

"I'll write her a great eulogy." Damon smirked.

"It's not an option, Damon." Ariana spoke up, sending Damon a warning look.

"All right, how do we break this curse?" Nathan sighed.

"Well, the ritual itself is relatively straightforward. The ingredients, so to speak, you already know." Elijah said.

"The moonstone." Stefan murmured.

"A witch will channel the power of the full moon to release the spell that's bound within the stone." Elijah continued. "After that, Klaus, being both werewolf and vampire, will sacrifice one of each."

"And where do we fit into it?" Elena asked, gesturing to herself and Ariana.

"The final part of the ritual." Elijah took a wooden box from the shelf. He first turned towards Ariana. "The first doppelgänger, the older one of the two... Klaus will have to stab a mystical stake through your heart, and the stake would absorb your blood to the point of death." He turned towards Elena. "As for the younger doppelgänger... Klaus must drink your blood... to the point of your death." Elijah opened the box and took two jars from it. "These are elixirs that I acquired some 500 years ago for Maria and Katerina. They possess mystical properties of resuscitation."

"So, we'll be dead?" Ariana whispered, her eyes widening with surprise.

"And then you won't." Elijah added.

"That's your plan? Two magical witch potions with no expiration date?" Damon scoffed. "What if it doesn't work?"

"If we die, then we're doing it together. That's the only reassurance I need." Ariana mumbled, grabbing Elena's hand and giving it a small squeeze. "Born together, die together. That's our deal."

Damon looked at Stefan and Nathan. They shrugged. Damon looked at Elijah before leaving.

"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?" Elena questioned.

"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years." Elijah informed. "If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will."

Ariana and Elena were with Elijah in the library.

"Why are you willing to do this?" Elijah asked the Gilbert twins.

"We're the key to breaking the curse. Klaus is here because of us. If we don't stop him, then he's going to hurt people. It's that simple." Elena shrugged.
