Alaric's POV

"It's good to see you." Isobel spoke, but I was just stunned into silence at the sight of her stood there. My wife was there, stood right beside me... Wife? Ex-wife? I had no idea. "You look good. I hear that you're a high school history teacher? How is that?"

"Where have you been, Isobel?" I asked her, my eyes narrowing ever so slightly.

"I don't have any reasons that are gonna comfort you. I don't have any explanations that are gonna satisfy you." Isobel stated. "I wanted this."

"It's that simple." I mumbled.

"Yeah! You were supposed to mourn me, and move on." Isobel told me.

"You were my wife, and I loved you!" I exclaimed. Mourn her!? What a joke! "How could I not search for you?

"Because I wasn't lost, Ric." Isobel said softly.

She took a piece of paper and wrote something on it.

"I understand that you know my daughters, Ariana and Elena, and I hear that they've been looking for me. So..." Isobel paused, handing me the piece of paper. "I want you to arrange for a meeting with us."

"You want me to deliver a message?" I scoffed in disbelief.

"Yes." Isobel replied, smiling. Was she just playing dumb or something? I crumbled up the paper angrily.

"Screw you." I sneered at her. "You selfish bitch."

I got up and left the Grill. Outside, I was going to my car, when Isobel suddenly appeared behind me, making me jump a little.

"What do you want from me?" I wondered.

"I told you." Isobel responded.

"I'm not gonna do anything for you." I hissed. But, suddenly, Isobel had me pinned to my car with her hand wrapped around my throat, choking me. I gasped for air.

"You better tell Ariana and Elena that I want to meet them, or I'm going to start killing the citizens of this town one by one, and I'm going to start with your history students." Isobel explained.

I gulped as Isobel released me. I inhaled, finally having access to air again, and fell to the ground. Isobel uncrumbled the piece of paper that I crumbled up and dropped it by me, and then walked away.

I grabbed the paper before it blew away from the wind, and sighed.

Ariana's POV

I was on the phone to Damon while walking around my room.

"I'm supposed to help build the Miss Mystic float for the Founder's Day parade. If I don't, I get the wrath of Caroline. But I wanted to check in first."

"Well, I'm doing great. Thanks for asking."

"I'm checking on Nathan and Stefan."

"Your checking on both of my brothers and not me? Ouch, Ana. Well, Nathan's fine, but Stefan... he's terrible."

"What's the matter?"

"He's just back to boring, straight-laced, off the junk. You and Elena has successfully cured him of anything that was interesting about his personality."

"Don't forget who helped us."

"I hate myself. Hey, did Uncle John mention anything to you about my field trip with the history teacher?"
