Flashback

In Northern Europe, 1520, Nadia and Natalia approached a quaint home and knocked on the door.

"Good evening, sir. If we can trouble you for a moment." Natalia spoke kindly. The man that answered started to close the door in their faces.

"We're looking for people! Their names are Katerina and Maria Petrova. They were last seen outside of London in 1492. They're on the run." Nadia stated.

"We need to find them... we need to ask Maria why she abandoned us..." Nadia frowned sadly.

Flashback

In France, 1720, Nadia and Natalia approached a man in the woods and Nadia pulled out a bag full of coins.

"Money for information. We were told you saw Katerina Petrova kill a man in cold-blood outside the quarter of Versailles, and Maria Petrova was with her. We want to know if that is true." Nadia said.

"We want to know what kind of people our mother and aunt are." Natalia added.

Madeline had found something else just as important to keep her mind off of Katherine's death: her dying daughter.

She and her other daughter, Natalia, were on their way to visit Wes, who they'd asked to find a miracle cure ASAP. But when they arrived, hopefully to retrieve a cure to save Nadia from the werewolf bite.

Madeline and Natalia arrived at Wes' new makeshift lab, and walked right in.

"Wes! What the hell is taking so lo--?" But Natalia cut herself off when she and Madeline saw Wes' dead and disembowelled body on the table.

"No, no, no, no, no, no. No!" Madeline started to panic. Wes was her only hope in saving Nadia. "Please no!"

"Don't die, we need you!" Natalia yelled, not wanting to have to ever say goodbye to her sister.

Madeline's phone rang. She saw that Nadia was calling, and composed herself before answering the call.

"Nadia, we're coming back to the church right now."

"She's not at the church anymore. She's with me, at home."

"Stef? W-why do you have Nadia's phone?"

"She doesn't have much time left, Madeline."

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"I know that it's you, and I know that you care about Nadia. That's why I brought her here."

"Prove it. Put her on the phone."

Stefan gave Nadia the phone.

"Madeline... please, take Talia and run. Keep her safe!"

"You can always run, Madeline. That's what you do best." Stefan was back on the phone. "Or, you can come home and see your daughter one last time before she dies. It's your choice."

"Stefan... why are you doing this to me?"

"You may have everyone else convinced that you're so good now, but I've had enough of trusting others so easy. I'm never trusting you again. You've caused all of us too much pain. See you soon."
