No one's POV

Avery and Ariana entered an apartment and was horrified to see Elijah with a new vampire, Gia. Although she had her hand in his chest, grasping his heart, things still looked very intimate between them.

"Elijah...?" Avery whispered, genuinely hurt.

Gia and Elijah both looked startled and mildly embarrassed. Gia took her hand out of his chest and let go of him. Avery looked jealous, but she played it cool and approached them with Ariana while Elijah healed.

"We need to talk." Ariana muttered. A werewolf, Aiden, followed Avery and Ariana into the loft. Gia looked as though she was about to lunge for him, but Elijah held her back. "We're not here for a fight. Just hear him out."

"Speak. I suggest you be succinct." Elijah said, unimpressed.

"Please. I need your help." Aiden sighed.

---

Elijah, Gia, Avery, Ariana, and Aiden had been joined by Oliver, Hayley, Josh, and Marcel. The werewolves explained their dilemma.

"The witch wants soldiers. So now, it's either join up, or pay the price." Hayley told.

"I've known my brother Finn to be merciless, but I'll admit, this exceeds even my expectations." Elijah muttered.

"They're just kids." Ariana sighed sadly. Avery turned towards Marcel.

"Marcel, you know the Quarter like the back of your hand. If anyone can get them out of here, it's you."

"Oh? And take 'em where?" Marcel stated.

"There's still wolves deep in the Bayou. Ones that didn't take a ring. They can look after them." Oliver mentioned.

"The ones that never sold out, you mean." Marcel said.

"You wanna look at it like that, that's fine. We did what we had to do." Oliver grunted.

"Your wolves have been fighting us for decades. Why trust us now?" Marcel asked. Aiden hesitated.

"One of the recruits is my little brother. There's no way I'm sending him to war."

"Tell us what you need." Elijah sighed.

---

Marcel, Elijah, Josh, Gia, Avery, Ariana, Hayley, Aiden, and Oliver were organizing their plan for the evening. Josh stared at Aiden awkwardly as Aiden talked.

"Alright, the kids are being held in the City of the Dead until we bring them through the Quarter to St. Anne's Church. Now, meanwhile, Vincent is holding a meeting with a few humans in-the-know. The ones who have been... reluctant to fall in line with his new leadership."

"He's going to use the children to kill any opposition." Elijah whispered, stunned. Aiden nodded before continuing.

"Activate their curse, send a message to anyone who's thinking about going against him. It's two birds, one... bloodbath."

"Okay, so, we'll hit them while the kids are on the move." Marcel shrugged.

"Aiden, make certain you and Oliver escort the children." Elijah instructed. "We'll handle the rest."

"Wait, wait, wait, wait — Esther and her psycho son are already giving me the stink-eye. If these kids go missing on my watch, I'm as good as dead." Oliver stated.

"You wanted to help your people and make amends for the past. This is your chance." Elijah muttered.
