No one's POV

Damon was in his bedroom, removing all the notes, maps, and newspaper cuttings from his closet, while listening to the TV news.

"Whether suicide, or a tragic accident, WPKW News has lost one of its shining stars. Field reporter and weekend anchor Andie Star was discovered..." The TV reporter said. Ariana entered.

"Just can't stay away, can you?" Damon said.

"You've been dodging my calls." Ariana mentioned.

"Yeah, well, busy dating a dead fake girlfriend and all." Damon sighed.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Ariana asked softly.

"Happy Birthday, Ana. Nathan killed Andie. Cake?" Damon muttered sarcastically.

"Elena called me, Damon..." Ariana informed. Damon turned to her, surprised.

"What?!"

"Elena called me last night."

"Well, what'd he say?" Damon wondered.

"She is now a vampire, as you suspected. Klaus turned her on our birthday... I knew she wouldn't be able to enjoy it... I asked Sheriff Forbes if she would trace the call's origin. It came from Tennessee." Ariana explained.

"Where Nathan... and now Elena, too... are binge drinking on the country folk. We went through this, Ana. Nathan and Elena are gone. I don't mean geographically." Damon threw the documents into the unlit fireplace.

He lit a match and threw it into the fireplace, which started burning.

Inside the Grill, Ariana was talking with Tyler at a table. Alaric was watching them from the bar. Ariana was questioning Tyler about werewolves, as Alaric had told her that he thought Klaus, Nathan, and Elena were hunting werewolves.

"A lot of us like to keep to ourselves for the full moon, chain ourselves up. But there are some werewolves that like to gather in places where they don't have to do that, where they can enjoy it." Tyler spoke.

"What kind of places?" Ariana asked.

"Mountains, state parks, deserts, that kind of stuff." Tyler shrugged.

"Anywhere in Tennessee?" Ariana pressed on.

"Yeah. Here. Give me your phone. I'll try to pull up a map." Tyler muttered. Ariana handed him her phone.

"Thanks for this, Ty." She smiled. "I know it's asking a lot."

Tyler smiled back.

"Stefan's in this mess because I bit Damon. I figure I owe you one. Here." He gave her her phone. "That's your best bet."

Ariana smiled at Tyler again, quickly kissing his cheek as a thank you, and then she rejoined Alaric at the bar, leaving behind a grinning Tyler as he gently pressed his fingertips to his cheek, almost love struck.

"Did you get anything?" Alaric wondered.

"How do you feel about a little hike through the Smoky Mountains?" Ariana said.

"You wanna hunt down a pack of werewolves on a full moon?" Alaric scoffed.

"We'll be out of there before the moon is full." Ariana reassured. "Please?"

"All right, fine." Alaric sighed with defeat. "Let's just... let's just go. But, uh, you're driving."
