No one's POV

There was a knock on the door. Aaron opened it to find Ariana standing outside.

"Aaron. Hey!"

"Hey." Aaron greeted back. "So, you heard?"

"Heard what?" Ariana's smile began to fade.

"That Jesse's dead. He killed himself last night. Campus security came by to tell me." Aaron informed. Although she already knew, Ariana sent him a sympathetic look.

"Oh, my God. I'm so sorry!" She truly did feel guilty about it, though. Even if it was Elena who killed him, not her. Aaron moved away from the door to let Ariana in.

"What's up with this college? It's supposed to be different. I came here to start fresh, get away from all the crap in my past." Aaron sighed. Ariana closed the door behind her.

"I get it." Not wanting to seem selfish and make the conversation all about her, that was all that Ariana said, leaving it at that. Aaron seemed to notice.

"How do you hit the reset button?"

"Me?" Ariana's eyes widened only slightly. Realizing that Aaron wanted her to talk about herself, Ariana sighed. "I-I haven't reset anything. All my problems, they've followed me here. Come to think of it, I'm probably not the right person to be getting advice from."

"So, if you're not here about Jesse, uh, why are you here?" Aaron wondered.

"I don't wanna bother you, especially not right now." Ariana said, deciding that it was better to just come back, but Aaron stopped her.

"My day's not gonna get any worse, so, uh, go ahead."

"Okay. Well, um, last night, you told me that Wes was your legal guardian." Ariana mentioned, and Aaron nodded.

"Yeah. Since past summer after my aunt Sara died. You see what I'm talking about? Everyone around me ends up dead, and my sunny disposition makes me so many friends. It's..." He hesitated, taking a deep breath. "I'm sorry. Go ahead."

"Um..." Ariana quickly cleared her throat. "The thing is... my boyfriend, Damon, went to talk to Wes last night, and no one's really seen or heard from either of them since, and that kind of worries me, you know? So I-I know how bad the timing is, but I just... I was hoping that maybe you could help me find Wes."

"Yeah. Yeah." Aaron stood up. "I think I know a place where we can look."

---

Ariana and Aaron were walking together.

"Just doesn't make sense why Jesse would kill himself." Aaron mumbled sadly.

"So, you believe what campus security told you?" Ariana asked.

"Why, do you know something else?" Aaron interrogated, making Ariana sigh.

"Don't you think it's weird that both of your friends committed suicide before the first semester was even over?"

"Yeah, of course I think it's weird. Jesse loved it here, he had a huge crush on your friend. Megan had all these plans for her life." Aaron stated.

"Which is why none of this makes sense..." Ariana stopped walking, standing in front of the boy she was walking with. "Aaron, look. I found Megan's body the night that she died. She was murdered, and Wes forged her death certificate."

"You saw her death certificate?" Aaron's eyes widened slightly in surprise.

"I did some digging. Wes is part of something much bigger than anyone even realizes." Ariana informed.
