Ariana's  POV

I walked outside and saw Elena sitting on the swing with her journal on her lap and her phone to her ear. She was leaving a voicemail for Bonnie, checking in. Bonnie had gone away for a week or two. Bonnie was going to go to her grams' funeral, and then she was going to spend some time away, staying with her Aunt, needing some time on her own. I sat down beside Elena.

"Are you alright?" I asked Elena once she hung up the phone. She smiled a little at me and nodded.

"Yeah, just thinking, I guess. I'm worried about Bonnie." Elena whispered. I nodded, agreeing with her.

"It's cold out here, why don't you girls come inside?" Jenna asked, walking over to us. She had just returned from the coffee shop as she had a cup of coffee in her hand.

"Oh, I almost forgot! You said you'd do some digging on our birth mother. Have you found anything yet?" I questioned. Elena nodded, indicating that she was wondering the same thing.

"Come on, I'll show you." So we followed Jenna inside. She opened up her laptop. "Your dad still kept everything from his medical practice!" Jenna stated. "All his logs, records, and his old appointment books too." She grabbed one of dad's appointment books. "I was looking through it and found an entry. An entry from the day you two were born. It states the patient and the birth date. Isobel Peterson."

"Isobel Peterson? That's her real name?" Elena questioned.

"Maybe her first name is real, but I'm not sure about the last name. I didn't know where she had got the last name though. Maybe her best friend or a classmate. So I looked it up." Jenna exclaimed. She typed in 'Peterson, Grove Hill, Virginia' in the search bar. "I got three results. There were two men, and... One woman. Trudie Peterson. She lived in Grove Hill, Virginia."

I smiled. Grove Hill wasn't that far from Mystic Falls!

"Watch." So we watched as Jenna began to type in the search bar. She typed 'Trudie Peterson, Grove Hill High School'. She clicked on a website and a 'class of 1993' school year book popped up on the screen. One picture in the year book stood out.

It was a picture of two girls in cheerleading uniforms. One looked kind of like Elena and I, with the hair and eye colour, so I was guessing that she was our birth mother. The other one must've been Trudie Peterson.

"So that's Isobel... Wow, she was a cheerleader!" I grinned.

"Trudie still lives in Grove Hill now." Jenna stated. She then scribbled down something on a scrap piece of paper. "Here's her address." She passed the piece of paper with the address on to Elena.

"What about Isobel? Did you find anything else?" I wondered.

"No, there wasn't anything else about her." Jenna replied. "There is another thing though. Mr Saltzman, Ric, had a wife, and... Her name was Isobel." Jenna added.

"What do you mean 'was'? 'Had'?" Elena asked. Jenna looked down, and then back up at us.

"She died..." Jenna confessed.

---

I was laying on my bed, with my head on Nathan's chest, his arm was wrapped around me. I was explaining to him everything about what I've heard about Isobel and about Alaric's wife.

"So Alaric's wife, that died, could have possibly been your birth mother?" Nathan asked as we sat up on my bed. I nodded.

"I mean... It's probably just a coincidence though..." I mumbled. "Jenna gave us an address to Isobel's friend, Trudie's, house." I added. "She thinks we should talk to her, and get answers. I'm still not sure though. But if it's true, and my birth mother is Mr. Saltzman's wife, then... That means that she's dead! My mum could possibly be dead... If that's true, I don't know if I could handle that. All I've heard is that Alaric's wife was killed, but no one solved the case or found the person who killed her."
