I'm nervous about writing this. It's such a good prompt and I hope it turns out good!
"Eight, nine, ten! Ready or not, here I come!" A young Olivia Benson exclaimed as she ran around the backyard of her foster home. She was happy here with the older couple that ran it, and she absolutely adored her foster siblings.
"Wait, I'm not ready yet!" A little boy giggled. Olivia giggled back, as she turned her back towards the tree.
"Levi, tell me when you are ready then!" Olivia exclaimed.

Olivia waited and waited for her best friend to tell her that he was finally hiding, but as Olivia's wait grew longer, she grew scared.
She turned around as tears welled in her dark brown eyes, as she started to search the yard for her best friend. As she rounded several corners, and as her search turned towards the front yard, Olivia was scared that she didn't know where her friend was. She stood on the sidewalk, a place where her foster parents never wanted them to stand because it was so close to the road, and Olivia cried out for her friend.
"Olivia? Dear?" Sophie Armstrong spoke, as she quickly walked from the house. Her husband ran from the garage.
"He's gone, Sophie! I don't know where he is!"
"Who?" Dennis spoke, as he knelt down in front of Olivia.
"Levi! We were playing hide and go seek, and I can't find him. He isn't here!"

20 Years Later
Olivia tucked some of her hair behind her ear as she sat in her new precinct. Those around her already thought she was crazy, but if only they knew. She let out a yawn as she flipped through missing persons' tips from the year and the years after Levi was taken. As she looked at a grainy picture of a little boy getting on a subway with a random man, her partner's voice sounded out behind her.
"Are you homeless, or are you very much married to this job?" Elliot Stabler questioned.
"I have an apartment, but I am also married to this job," Olivia spoke, as she shifted up a bit so she could sit straighter.
"So, what are you looking at?" Elliot questioned, as he sank down beside her.
"I'm looking at horrible quality pictures of missing boys." She replied back slowly.
"Uh-"
"I lost a friend when I was younger. I'm still trying to find him so that I get closure." Olivia breathed before she started to pack up.
"Don't let it get to you, Benson."
"It already has, Stabler."

Olivia tossed and turned that night in bed. She couldn't stop thinking about Levi. When they were younger, in the backyard of their foster home, they got married. It was a silly kid thing, but when she was younger she knew she wanted to marry him. It was just love at first sight, and now there was no way that would ever happen.
Olivia and Elliot sat together in their sedan, as they drove around a crime scene. Elliot hadn't brought up Levi again since the night of Olivia's first day, but now nearly a month in, he decided to test the water.
"So, Levi was your best friend?" Elliot asked.
"Foster brother, best friend, probably would've forced him to marry me." Olivia sighed. The group home they lived in didn't make the kids call each other brother in sisters. They were all just kids who needed a home, and Dennis and Sophie did that for them.
"He was really special huh?"
"Yeah." Olivia breathed. She ran her hands over her face before looking over at Elliot.
"I miss him, so much. Please don't bring that up to anyone, okay? They don't need to know." Olivia whispered.
"Yeah, of course. Uh, how did he go missing?"
"He and I were playing in the backyard. Hide and seek. He said he wasn't ready when I was done counting, so I went back to counting and when I was done he was gone." Olivia whispered.
"Oh, geez."
"There had been a guy in a black van that used to drive around our neighborhood. We weren't allowed in the front yard because of it, and I think Levi went into the front yard to hide because I knew where all of his hiding spots were." Olivia breathed, as she looked down at her hands.
"I can get some of my contacts involved and you can try and find him. Or at least get some closure." Elliot spoke, and Olivia wiped a tear from her cheek before looking at him and smiling.
"Thanks, Elliot. It means a lot. Uh, wanna get some lunch?"
"You've been my partner for a month, you should know that I'm always ready for lunch and food in general." He smiled. He saw her wipe the tear from her cheek and he just wanted to make her feel better, and he'd try everything possible.

The year slowly came to an end, and Olivia and Elliot were going to have dinner with his family to celebrate her anniversary with SVU.
"So, are you happy that you stayed?" Lizzie asked, from where she sat on Olivia's lap. Olivia smiled as she hugged the girl.
"Yeah, I'm really happy that I stayed." Olivia smiled.
She became another Stabler. Olivia and Elliot were pretty much brother and sister the way they fight sometimes, and she's become an Aunt to Elliot's kids. Kathy and Olivia got along very well and Kathy helped Olivia when she got down, which happened often.
"Olivia?" A man's voice questioned, as Olivia continued to hold Lizzie.
"Yes?" She questioned, as she looked at Elliot. But then she saw a man standing behind him. He was dressed up, his hair slicked back, and his grey eyes were so familiar.
"So, I called in every favor I could. This is my gift to you." Elliot smiled. Olivia's eyes went wide because she was confused why Elliot would get her a man for her anniversary.
"Elliot, please tell me he isn't a... you know what," Olivia whispered as she placed her hands over Lizzie's ears.
"It's me, Levi. Livvie." Levi breathed, which made Olivia start to cry. She passed Lizzie over to Elliot before standing. She quickly walked towards the man who had changed completely since he was that boy in foster care.
"You're alive," Olivia whispered, as she looked him over.
"I am, now. Can we-"
Olivia cut Levi off. She kissed him deeply and with as much passion as she could as tears streamed down her cheeks.
21 years. That is how long it took her to reunite with Levi. She thought he had been killed. That one of the bodies that were dug up daily, was his. But instead, he is standing right in front of her. His hands placed to her hips as he cried also.
///
Levi had been taken by the man in the black van. He had gone out front to hide in one of the bushes when the man drove by and said he needed help finding his puppy. Levi wanted to help, so he went with the man.
After many years of being raised as that man's son and being beaten, Levi left. He went to the police and had been recovering in Florida. He was found out of pure luck because he had changed his name to David. But, once Elliot started to try harder and harder to find his best friend's person, he found him and brought him back just so Olivia could be happy.
So the longest game of hide and seek was finished, with an outside player finding the hider.
