Disappointed

Olivia stood by her front window and looked out to see if her husband was home or not. She had been checking for the last three hours, and Elliot was yet to show up. She swallowed hard as she turned around and walked quietly to the kitchen before stopping and looking at her dining table. She had set the table and had roses and candles all ready for her husband to see. Sitting on the stove was the special dinner she had made for her husband to show him how much she truly loves him. 

"El, where the hell are you," Olivia mumbled to herself as she started to clear the table. She blew the candles out and moved the roses to the counter so they were out of the way. She moved over to the stove and moved the pans from it before starting to clean everything up. She wasn't going to wait any longer and she was just going to go to bed.

Olivia had completely finished up putting everything away, before heading upstairs and getting undressed. She slowly got changed into her pajamas before laying down in bed as she cried quietly.

Elliot got home long after he told his wife he'd be home. He slipped his shoes off by the door before locking it for the night. Then he headed for the stairs to see if Olivia was still awake. But when he went to open the bedroom door, it was locked. He blinked a few times from shock before knocking on the door.

"Liv? Baby, can you unlock the door?" Elliot asked, and inside Olivia sat in the middle of the bed with her body shaking. She wanted to go unlock the door to see her husband and make sure he was okay, but she also didn't want him to come in and try to make her better after hurting her once again tonight.

"Liv?" Elliot questioned because he was so confused why the first time in their five year marriage, Olivia had locked him out of her room.

"Elliot, why didn't you come home on time? Why did you not even call me?" Olivia whimpered.

"I didn't get a chance to call you. I'm sorry." Elliot replied, but it was a half-assed apology. He wasn't really sorry for being late, and he didn't really seem to care too much about hurting his wife yet again.

"Elliot, why are you such an ass lately?" Olivia asked, as she climbed off the bed and walked over to the door. She rested her forehead against it as she thought about seeing her husband on the other side with a black eye or busted knuckles.

"I'm just a little stressed, okay? But I'm good and so I need you to open the door so we can make up."

"Why are you stressed?" Olivia questioned, as she turned around and rested her back against the door. She kept her hands balled up in fists by her sides so she wouldn't open the door and smack her husband.

"You'll be angry if I tell you," Elliot mumbled. Olivia unlocked the door quickly and swung it open. She stared at her husband as tears filled her eyes.

"Are you cheating on me? Elliot..." Olivia trailed off as she noticed the hickey on his neck.

"No, I'm not-"

"I didn't leave that on your skin, Elliot!" Olivia cried, before slamming the door and locking it again. There would never be space for Elliot in that room ever again.

Elliot slept in the guest bedroom, and he slept like a baby. It was probably because he was wasted, and because he didn't remember that his wife found out he was cheating on her. Elliot woke up to his wife standing over him with the basket of his clothes in her hands.

"Liv?" Elliot asked as she poured the dirty clothes onto him.

"I want you out of my house," Olivia spoke, before turning around and picking up the basket of clean clothes and tossing them on him too.

"What? Liv!" Elliot exclaimed as she moved from the bedroom and towards the living room. Elliot followed quickly behind her wife and stopped when he saw all of his items were boxed up and sat in the living room.

"You cheated on me, Elliot. I don't know why, or with who... but I am tired of you disappointing me over and over again. It's like you are giving up on me and our marriage just because we can't start a family." Olivia spoke. She brushed the tears from her cheeks before crossing her arms over her chest.

"How did you find out?" Elliot asked, not even being able to recall what had happened last night with his wife.

"You have a major hickey on your neck. That's how I found out. That's how I found out that you are cheating on me. Probably with someone prettier. Do you have more fun without a wedding band on your finger?" Olivia questioned rapidly. Elliot sighed before walking over and picking up a few boxes.

"Bye, I guess." He sighed. Olivia watched as he moved the boxes out and to his truck. She sat down on the stairs and felt even more disappointed with herself after her husband took each box out. She felt like she didn't do enough to keep him interested.

"Do you want my ring?" Elliot asked as he stood in the doorway. Olivia looked up at him and shook her head.

"Pawn it or something. It doesn't mean anything to you as mine means to me." Olivia breathed.

"We could have tried to work this out, Liv. I don't know why you jumped straight to kicking me out." Elliot sighed.

"I'll find someone better. I'll find someone who doesn't want to cheat on me and who understands that a family might not be in the cards. You'll probably just sleep around with as many women as possible because one is just not enough." Olivia spoke. She stood and walked over to the door before shoving her husband hard before slamming and locking the door.

Many years later, Elliot was sitting on a barstool in the middle of the day. He looked out the window and saw as a brown-haired woman walked past. Strapped to her chest was a baby with a light pink bow in her hair, and walking beside her was a tall man with dark brown hair. In his arms was another little girl who was smiling at her mother. Elliot blinked a few times before standing and walking from the bar. The bartender yelled at him and told him to pay his tab, but Elliot ignored him.

He stepped out onto the street and looked at the woman.

"Olivia?"
