Moon Dads

You were sitting on the floor in the living room, colouring in your favourite book.
Suddenly you heard a knock at the door, you felt scared for a moment.
They never knocked, and they told you to never open the door.
You grabbed your book and ran to their room and locked yourself in the closet.
You grabbed one of their shirts and cuddled it to your chest.
You felt like you were going to cry, but you knew you had to be strong.
You clutched the shirt to your chest and closed your eyes tightly.
Suddenly the door opened and you screamed before someone grabbed your wrists.

"Baby! It's daddy, it's okay!" You heard a voice say as you cried out and leapt up into Marc's arms.

"Shh, it's okay. What's wrong, love?" He asked as you cried softly and held onto him.

"There was someone knocking at the door, I got scared." You whispered as he held you tightly in his arms.

"Oh, sweetheart. It's okay, it was just a salesman. You're safe, okay?" He said as you nodded but didn't let go.
He chuckled and lifted you up in his arms and you wrapped your legs around his waist.

"I got a surprise for you, darling." Marc said, gently setting you down on your feet.
You sat at the table and looked up at him excitedly. He placed a small box in front of you and you quickly opened it to see a small decorated cupcake.
You gasped in excitement and hopped up and down making Marc chuckle.

"Thank you!" You said before grabbing it and basically ruining the decorations.
Marc didn't mind, he was just glad you were happy.
You ate the cupcake quickly, completely in your own world while Marc cleaned up the kitchen and glanced at you now and then.
Once you were done you gave the box back to Marc.

"Thank you!" You said as he looked down at you to see you covered in frosting and sprinkles.
He chuckled and grabbed a cloth, kneeling down to you and wiping away the mess.
You giggled while he did so and once he was done you hugged him tightly.

"Movie now?" You said as he hugged you back.

"Manners, sweetheart." He reminded you as you chuckled.

"Movie, please?" You said making him laugh.

"Sounds like a plan, sweetheart."
