Shhhh ;)

"Have fun, Kiddo" Patton cooed after dropping Virgil off of at the rollerblade park, sitting beside him a softly blushing Logan, visibly digesting in his seat.

Virgil smirked, "will do, you too, dad" he waved, knowing full well his father was about to go on a date with Logan, his unofficial-sorta official step-dad. He's been great since the start and Virgil (secretly) adores him. They've been on four dates already and practically love each other. He wouldn't point it out before they realised, though.

After they peeled off onto the road Virgil twirled around and headed inside, his backpack hanging onto one shoulder carrying his favourite pair of roller skates. He's had them for the past two years and fit him better than any other pair he's had before.

He dreaded the day he'd have to buy a new pair and wear them down with blisters and spite.

He waved towards the person behind the counter, she waved back brightly, currently talking with a friend leaning on the desk. He didn't disturb them more and continued to the rink, dropping his bag on an empty row of benches, unzipping and pulling out the skates.

Slumping down he toed off his black, beat-up vans, stowing them away and replacing them with the skates, pulling them on snug to his ankles.

The music bounced around the room softly and the multicoloured lights twinkled. It was early in the afternoon, barely anyone was here and he could roll around without falling into an awkward, unprepared social interaction.

Just as he preferred.

Using the wall for support he rolled across the retro-styled carpet until he reached the entrance, putting both feet onto the smooth wood and pushing himself off, following the edge of the rink in large circles.

It was always so calming, the distant chatter from other groups, the music, the refreshing air-con, and the- oomf

He was sprawled across the floor quite suddenly, ripping a gasp from his throat. Beside him a taller, golden boy was groaning, adorned in a red and white varsity jacket, tight jeans, and beautiful, beautiful glowing eyes.

Virgil only managed to sit halfway up before he was frozen, gazing at the man with blown out eyes and slightly parted lips.

"Disney-" he muttered, rubbing his head. "That hurt. I'm so, so sorry" he finally faced Virgil, shoulders tensing ever so slightly as their eyes met.

And they held the look. Too long than necessary.

"I-uh... hi" Virgil spluttered, cheeks burning red but it was hard to tell under the red lights.

The man slowly smiled, "hello. You're beautiful" he whispered.

Virgil choked on saliva, covering his mouth. "I'm-what?"

"Sorry! That- that just came out" he said, rushing to his feet and holding out a hand, bringing Virgil up too.

"Um- I'm Roman" he introduced, bowing slightly.

Virgil watched, still shell-shocked. "I'm... Virgil"

"Cute name" he grinned, eyes widening after. "Oh- sorry- I- er-"

Virgil chuckled, cutting him off. "You mix up your words a lot, huh?"

Roman blushed, shuffling awkwardly on his wheels. "I... yes, I do. Only when I come across such attractive men" he added after a moment. Virgil's cheeks burned pink but he managed a soft smirk.

"You're not so bad yourself"

Roman puffed out his chest, "I know, aren't I impossibly attractive? You can barely pry your eyes away" he said, mostly joking. Virgil scoffed playfully, beginning to roll away.

"Humble, too"

"I was about to say!" He called, following him.

Virgil laughed, glancing at him over his shoulder. He had a feeling they would become great friends.
