And he's blue.

Au

Virgil stared down at his work he was given for the first ten minutes of class, the noise of chatter from other kids filling up the space around him. He tried to tune into his boyfriends' and best friends' conversation, but whenever he did he felt himself slipping out, and eventually he gave up, body tilting forward every so often when a wave of exhaustion would hit him, but he blinked rapidly and sat up straight again, trying to will himself to stay awake.

He slapped his cheek, drank water, walked around the class aimlessly to try and solve the sleep climbing up his back, but whenever he sat down he felt like burying his head into his arms and sleeping. The most unfair aspect of this was he never felt this at home; he could be awake until three am and never feel an ounce of sleep, but while in school, sitting at his desk with his friends, he felt like he could pass out at any moment.

Why did his body have to live in a different time zone?

With a sigh, he picked up his pen and got to work, but sometimes his eyes would fall shut, and his writing would drift, leaving messy scrawls across the paper. Eventually, the others began to notice, Patton giggling at how adorable his 'Kiddo' looked, while Logan was worried about how little sleep the boy must've gotten to be acting this way.

In the end, they all nodded at one another, and got to work making him more comfortable. They took his sheet away from his hands, but he didn't notice, he was in one of his 'two minute sleep spells' so they could easily do this without him realising. Roman handed the work to Logan who got busy to complete it, Patton unwrapped his cardigan from his shoulders and let Roman lay it gently across Virgil's head that had slowly migrated further into his arms covered by his warm, baggy purple and black jacket.

Even if he tried to sit up, he felt weighed down, so with the thought that his friends would protect him, he fell asleep against the desk, only waking up when the bell echoed through the classroom. He yawned and sat up, smiling tiredly at his friends who helped put his things away and carry him through school. Well, at first he murmured angrily at Roman after the talk boy scooped him up bridal style, but in the end he gave up, spending the entirety of lunch cuddled up to Roman's chest as he and the others sat in an empty hallway, talking happily while every so often sparing Virgil a glance. He had ended up falling asleep again, and would concur Roman's body was more comfortable than a school desk would ever be.
