"Are you sure they would be comfortable with my presence?" Logan asked Patton once again as they left the school building to cross the field and arrive at the destination where Patton and his two best friends hang out at during break and lunch. Patton giggled, hugging Logan's hand and swinging it back and forth. The logical nerd didn't expect that, and tensed a little, swallowing down the blush he felt burn at his cheeks.

"Don't worry about them, Lo! I've forgiven you, so they should, too!" Patton reassures, squeezing Logan's hand slightly and sending him a cute smile. Logan nodded and breathed out lowly, eyes grazing across the school's field to see the other groups of students hanging out with each other, doing different activities to pass the time. He remembered when he had that - spending time with friends, ever since he was abandoned in his old school, he never really got over it.

He hoped Patton could help him. He was lucky that Patton even wanted to help in the first place, from how poorly he had treated the boy in the past.

"I'll give it to ya, you're persistent" Virgil quipped as soon as the two were in ear shot, shooting it at Patton while gesturing to Logan. Roman, who was leaning on the tree, narrowed his eyes at Logan who shifted uncomfortably under his gaze - but he deserved it. Patton was precious, he couldn't imagine ever purposely hurting the boy again.

Patton shrugged and giggled, sitting beside Virgil who laid in the shade. Logan awkwardly waited until he was given permission to sit down, as soon as he was he plopped down beside Patton and shrugged off his backpack, avoiding eye contact with Roman who still looked wary and actually quite annoyed. Patton, interrupting the silence, started up conversation about Remy - Roman and Virgil both adored his younger sibling, and when they found out they had been in a car crash, they were both immensely worried and waited in the hospital room with Patton on the day the crash occurred.

They couldn't be more relieved to find Remy was okay; even still they sometimes went over in the week to check up on them. Remy loved the attention, so they weren't complaining.

"Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself, Logan?" Patton piped up, snapping the boy from his thoughts. He glanced between them all, noticing Virgil didn't look so appalled by him being here, even still he felt like he was ruining the atmosphere. "There is not much to say" Logan replied back stiffly, "I live in foster care, although they cannot seem to find a permanent home" as he admitted this, Patton gripped a hold of his hand again, and Logan would be lying if he said it didn't feel nice.

"I do not know for sure if I will stay here for long" He added on, not expecting Patton to gasp and whip his body around to face him. "What!?" He almost yelled, making Virgil and Logan flinch at the sudden loud velocity. "Yes. I thought it was quite obvious...my" He stopped himself, not feeling comfortable revealing this information to Virgil and Roman just yet. So, he leaned close to Patton and whispered;

"My Mother is dying. As soon as she does, nothing will tie me to here. I will be moved away" Patton looked like he could cry, bringing Logan into a tight hug before he could. "Oh, gosh, Logan I'm so sorry" he whispered, clenching his eyes shut. "Please don't leave" he added on in a whisper, Roman watching the exchange with softening eyes. So, Logan wasn't as bad as he had originally interpreted.

"Is...everything okay?" Virgil asked timidly, propping himself up on his elbows. Patton slowly let go of Logan who stared at Patton with unreadable eyes. "I don't know" Logan murmured in response, finding his eyes trail down to the grass, what Patton said had struck his heart like nothing else has ever before. Everyone was silent for a moment, Patton's sniffles being the only thing that they could hear. He wiped his eyes with his sleeve, glancing at Logan, forlorn.
