"You're an idiot, Sky - how can YOU be related to Logan Sanders?"

Sky visibly flinched, trying to hide further into the locker he was packing his books inside of, but the group of kids who loitered behind him wouldn't leave him alone. It's usually how his days went - because everyone knows his father is the Logan Sanders, a man famous for his company and how intelligent he is, they bully him about it, because he isn't nearly as smart and never will be.

When they finally gave up and left school to go home, Sky furiously rubbed his eyes dry and slammed shut his locker, the metal clang echoing down the hallway. Swinging his mostly empty bag back onto his shoulders, he trudged his way outside and home. He loves being home, mostly because he can be alone, but he dreads talking to his dad. He doesn't want to explain his day, he doesn't want to tell his dad what he learnt because he can barely remember any of it!

Breathing out softly, he brushed away his growing blond hair and stepped inside the house. Another thing different between he and his father was their looks. Sky basically took everything from his mother, apart from his cheek bones - sharp and prominent, just like Logan. He wishes he could miss his mother, but she died while giving birth and Logan never talks about her. Sky sighed and closed the door, leaning against the wood and listening to the silent house. Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming down a hallway, but he knew it wasn't his father. Sky smiled when the man appeared, wearing his favourite blue polo and cardigan on his shoulders.

"Hey, Pat" Sky greeted softly. Patton rushed over and hugged him tightly, Sky burrowed into him and sighed out happily. "Hi, Kiddo! Gosh, I've missed you" Patton gushed, leaning back and kissing his forehead. Sky allowed him to because he not-so-secretly loved it and Patton knew that. Affection is something he adored, something he never got from his father.

"I've missed you, too Patton" Sky smiled, "when's dad home?" Patton looked away thoughtfully, scrunching up his lips in thought. "Oo! Around eight?" Sky nodded and excused himself, hurrying up the staircase and walking into his fathers room. Swinging his bag onto the bed, he searched through it and pulled out a leaflet. He read over the front again.

Thinking of adoption?

He sighed out and wiped at his eyes. It would be better this way. Logan wouldn't have a disappointment anymore. He placed it on his dad's bedside table before hiding away in his room, watching television until Patton called him down for dinner. Patton wasn't around often, his job as a vet took up a lot of time, but whenever he came over he always cooked food for Sky. He smiled wistfully and wandered into the dining room, sitting at his usual spot with Patton opposite. His favourite; lasagna. "Thanks, Pat. This is amazing" Sky commented after swallowing a bunch of melted cheese and beef. Patton giggled and shrugged bashfully. "No worries!"

They conversed for a little longer until they both finished. Sky helped him clean up and hugged him when he had to go. "Sorry, Kiddo, I'll stay if you want! Until Lo comes back?" Sky shook his head with a reassuring smile, "nah" he waved off, "they called you, they need you. I'll be fine" Patton smiled softly and stroked his cheek gently, kissing his forehead again. "See you soon, Kiddo"

"You too, Pat" Sky waved him off until he disappeared down the street. Closing the door, he vanished off to his room, feeling his stomach clench with anxiety a few hours later when he heard the door open and shut. Muting his T.V, he strained his hearing, listening to Logan move around the first floor until he thumped up the staircase and down the hallway to his room. Like usual, his dad knocked, but their conversations usually never lasted longer than five minutes unless Logan was ranting passionately about one thing or another Sky didn't really understand.
