Au

"Any volunteers?" Patton asked his class from where he stood at the front. They were all currently reading the book their essay would be based around, and he needed a few students to join him in reading. As per usual, Roman's hand struck up straight into the air, along with Dara's, Meg's, and Eric's.

"Why don't you make Virgil read?" One of those kids piped up from the back, leaning back in his chair, legs kicked up onto the desk. A few of his friends laughed at his comment, but other than that it wasn't really funny. Patton glanced over at Virgil who sat in the middle row beside the window, head in his arms, eyes closed. Patton smiled softly and left the book open on the desk, walking to the back of his classroom and opening his wardrobe. "Roman, can you read the first few paragraphs for me?" He asked sweetly, picking up a blanket from the shelf.

"Of course!" Roman declared and delved straight in, unlike everyone else, his voice actually held emotion as he read, which was why he was always a class favourite when it came to reading aloud. Patton shuffled through the gab between the desks and unfolded the blanket, laying it over Virgil's sleeping form. He smiled gently down at him, winking at the boys closest friend Logan who was sitting beside him. "Watch over him" Patton whispered, Logan nodded and returned to the book, already a few pages ahead of everyone else.

Patton made it back to the front, scooped up the book and read along with Roman. Once he finished, Dara took over, then Eric, then Meg. Finishing the chapter, Patton handed out the worksheets, explained what to do and allowed everyone to get on with it as he squatted down before Logan and Virgil. "Is he okay?" Patton asked Logan who looked up and glanced at Virgil who was still deep asleep. "He usually avoids obtaining the recommended amount of sleep for teenagers at night" Patton nodded in understanding, ruffling Virgil's hair gently.

Twenty minutes later the bell rang throughout the classroom, after Patton dismissed them they all shuffled out, leaving behind Logan and Virgil. Logan carried on reading the book, not wanting Virgil to wake up suddenly in an empty classroom and freak out. Patton sat at his desk and typed away on his computer, steadily keeping aware of the time situated at the bottom right hand side of the screen. He planned to wake Virgil up five minutes before his next class, as Patton was sure the last thing he wanted/needed was to be late.

"Hey, Virgie" Patton whispered a little while later, gently shaking his shoulder. "Virge, I know you're in there" he grinned, soft tone ever present. Logan watched as Virgil stirred, and his eyes tiredly blinked to adjust to the real world again. He groaned and stretched his arms, sitting up and fumbling with his hair to make sure he wouldn't be seen with it messy. He glanced around, eyes widening when he realised the class had left.

"What...time is it?" He whispered, Patton laughed in a non-mocking way. "Don't worry, Kiddo! Five minutes until next lesson. Did you have a nice nap?" He blushed and hid his face in his hands, flushing further when Patton's laughter filled his ears. Then he felt the blanket around his body, and groped for it before pulling over his head, hiding himself further.

Patton hummed in amusement, poking the top of Virgil's head.

"You're adorable, Kiddo"
