Patton quietly hummed a delightful tune in his head while listening to the headmaster talk to the school at the front of the hall on a little stage. Everyone was silent, a few people sometimes whispered to their friend, while others were in a world of their own, trying to keep themselves from dying of boredom.

Patton didn't mind listening to the headmaster speak - it was never anything boring, usually about what had happened in school recently, and what they plan to do in the future. What really caught his, and nearly everyone else's attention, though, was his mention of a new student.

"His name is Virgil, please make him feel welcome"

Everyone turned their head over to the double doors to see a darkly dressed student standing beside a teacher. He tensed when sudden attention was put on him, and almost looked like he was about to leave. Before he could, Patton slowly stood up, eyes staring directly at the boy who finally noticed him across the room.

The cardigan-clod nearly burst into tears, whispering; "Virgil" with a cracked voice before he set off into a sprint across the room, crashing into the boy who fell against a wall, barely able to hold himself and Patton up! The boy was crying against his shoulder, repeating his name a few times before bombarding him with questions such as; "Why are you here?!" And "I thought you lived in Iowa?"

Virgil finally got over the initial shock and grinned, hugging his best (online) friend back tightly, rubbing his back a little to try and ease his tears. "I told you I was moving.." Virgil murmured, smiling softly when Patton leaned back and cupped his face. "I didn't think you'd move here! Awh! Kiddo!" He felt another wave of tears crash down his cheeks as he took Virgil in, realising the person he has been texting for years is finally here in person, standing opposite him - it wasn't just a picture this time.

"Gosh, Virgie..." Patton pressed a kiss to his forehead lovingly, both boys chuckling watery. The headmaster poked his head through the door, eyeing the two boys. "When I said welcomed this wasn't exactly what I had in mind..." he murmured, which set the boys off into further laughs, wrapping the other in a hug. 

"Gosh, I love you" Patton whispered with a giggle.

Virgil snorted into his shoulder, burying his whole face into it. "Love ya too, Dad..."
