I wanna read 'To Kill a Mockingbird' and 'Fahrenheit 451'

I'll ask for them on my birthday

Which is on the 24th of February, by the way

Guess who'll be the legal age of consent ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

"How stupid do you think I am, Roman?!" Virgil demanded, glaring at his ex-friend who stood opposite him in the large living room. He had his arms crossed, eyes narrowed with rage at the man he once resided as his best friend. "I don't think you want me to answer that" Roman spat back, taking a few steps closer to Virgil who didn't lose his stance, or back away in fear. No, he wasn't scared, for the first time in a confrontational moment, he wasn't scared of the man standing opposite him.

"How mature of you" Virgil muttered, "but you were never really mature, were you? Running away from issues, living the 'best life'. How did I not see it? How did I not see you never cared? How did I not realise all I was to you was a chess piece for you to control until you knocked me off with a replacement. How did I not see it, Ro?" Virgil voice edged on a tone of pleading, truly wanting to understand why he was so naive, was it because Roman was his childhood friend? Because he trusted this man with everything he had? Or because he didn't want to realise it, subconsciously he didn't want to see it, because if he did, his only friend wouldn't be his friend anymore.

Roman clicked his tongue, hands clenched. "I don't know, Virgil. I didn't exactly care for you, I regarded you as nothing more but the shit on the bottom of my shoe. Yet you followed me like a loyal puppy, even if I kicked you for so long. You returned. Do you know how annoying you are!?" Roman groaned and spun around, throwing his arms up into the air as Virgil's growing anger bubbled up inside of him. "I mean" Roman carried on, glaring at the fire place he now stared at. "I hate you" he admitted, "you hate me. But without each other...we're alone. Is that what we're avoiding? The pain of being alone for the pain of being friends with each other? I can't handle you anymore. Why won't you just go?"

"Because I know what you did"

Roman tensed.

"Shut up" he fired back.

"I know what you did, Roman"

"I said-!" Roman's words were caught in his throat when he turned back around to see a gun pointed in his direction. He tensed, arms slowly lowering to his side. "Virgil.." he whispered, backing away until his heel hit the brick of the mantel. "Virgil" he repeated, voice soft, "don't do this" he begged, meeting Virgil's eyes that were hard, icy and set in stone.

His hand didn't shake - it was frozen with the barrel directed at Roman's head.

"Why?" Virgil seethed, "why don't I just shoot you now? Do everyone a favour, huh?"

"Virgil, it- you won't get away. They'll find you-you'll be sent to prison please reconsider-"

"I'll be happy to live out the rest of my days rotting in a cell knowing the world isn't cursed with scum like you" Virgil gritted out with poison twisting in his words. Roman couldn't say anything more before a gunshot rang throughout the room, and his body fell back against the fireplace, landing in the wooden ashes, amber long gone from the last it was lit. Virgil's body shuddered and sagged, gun landing on the floor with a thud. He dropped his arms to his sides, staring at Roman's body for the longest, dragged out minute he had ever lived through.

Then, his body turned, and he stalked out the room.

...

"...AAAAAAND SCENE!" Patton's voice yelled out through the theatre. Instantly, Roman sprung to life and grinned, dusting away the ash from his clothes as Virgil sheepishly came back up on stage, grinning at Roman who waltzed over, eyes shimmering with pride. "Virgil!" He exclaimed, twirling the man around, he laughed and rolled his eyes. "That. Was. Amazing! Glorious! Absolutely spectacular!" Roman yelled out in excitement, "I told you!" He added on, setting Virgil to the ground and nudging his finger at him. "I told you you would be a brilliant actor!"

"Shut it, Ro" Virgil sighed, blushing at the praise. "He is not wrong" Logan, the turd(tord? Terd? Tard? Tird?) spoke up next, climbing onto the stage with Patton who was beaming ear to ear. "Gosh, Kiddo! I can't believe you hid that secret talent from us for so long!"

Again, Virgil sighed and hid his face. "Stop...christ, kill me now" his friends laughed along with him, Roman slugging his arm over his shoulders and holding him close. "I think" Roman mused, "Virgil should be the new lead actor" his eyes widened at the suggestion, from glancing at Logan and Patton, he knew they were contemplating it. "No" Virgil stared at them all, "no, no, no!" He repeated, but Roman's grin showed nothing was about to stop him from getting Virgil to play the role.

He was just stepping in for someone else who didn't show up - he didn't want to be so good at it.

But, months later, once the play had finished and he was bowing to the crowd who gave a standing ovation, he grinned at Roman, more than happy he agreed to act.
