"-and we can watch the Black Cauldron!" Patton concluded, walking with a skip in his step to the living room with Virgil in tow. He had managed to get the emo shadowling from his room to join them all in movie night - as soon as he mentioned the word 'popcorn' he was in.

Stepping into the living room, he glanced across the room, eyes narrowing when they landed on Deceit. "Why is he here?" He muttered dangerously to Patton who innocently cocked his head, following his gesture to Deceit who watched the two closely. "Oh! We're all family, Virge! He can join in too!" Patton explained, sending the lying aspect a small wave. Deceit smirked, leaning back on the couch as Virgil glared heatedly at him, hands clenched at his sides.

"What is the matter with you two?" Roman sighed, plopping some popcorn into his mouth before jumping up from his comfortable position. "Nothin'" Virgil grumbled, crossing his arms and turning to leave, but Patton gripped his arm before he could. "Awh, please don't leave, Kiddo! It won't be the same without you" he frowned sadly, swaying Virgil who sighed loudly and slumped on the couch as far away from Deceit as possible.

During the movie, Deceit and Virgil kept on sharing harsh whispers and dark glares - in the end everyone got so fed up they appeared in the real world, forcing Deceit and Virgil to join them; they were perplexed for a moment until they realised they were now closer to each other - Virgil hissed while Deceit poised himself like predator ready to attack prey.

"What's...going on?" Thomas murmured, standing up from his couch while rubbing his eye tiredly. Logan adjusted his glasses, gesturing flimsily to the two sides. "They cannot get over whatever history they had. We were hoping you could help" Logan explained, watching Thomas nod slowly as he understood - he had noticed the animosity, but didn't really act on it.

"Why do you two hate each other so?!" Roman crossed his arms, irritated. Virgil clenched his jaw and looked the other way, giving Deceit the perfect opportunity to answer.

"He's not overreacting at all"

In a flash, Virgil whirled around to glare daggers at the side who smirked. "YOU!" He yelled accusingly, throwing his hand towards the side, "betrayed me!" His loud voice surprised the others, not realising their anger ran this deep. "Betrayed you?" Deceit rolled his eyes, "and how exactly did I betray you?" He wondered condescendingly, hearing Virgil click his tongue in fury.

"You know why; tell them, tell them how you betrayed me" the darkly dressed side demanded, gesturing wildly to the other sides and their host who stayed silent.

Deceit smirked, pushing his hat up his head a little. "He found me listening to Taylor Swift-"

"TAYLOR SWIFT!" Virgil suddenly exclaimed, "YOU BETRAYER!"

"How exactly did he 'betray' you?" Logan asked, genuinely confused.

"Taylor Swift is not emo, we cried over My Chemical Romance together- wE SHARED POETRY WHILE LISTENING TO PANIC AND WHAT DO YOU DO?!" Virgil took a step closer, "You unemofy yourself" he snarled, crossing his arms tightly across his chest.

Deceit was staring the other way, exasperated while Roman cleared his throat and murmured quietly; "emos who g-note together, stay together"

Virgil threw his hand up towards Roman, "see! Even Captain-Prissy-Perfect gets it!"

"Alright!" Deceit sighed, turning to Virgil. "I'm sorry" he said, Virgil wanted to call him out for lying, but he actually sounded truthful.

"Whatever" he huffed, turning the other way. Deceit held up his gloved hand, knowing Virgil noticed it, but was actively ignoring it. "Want to listen to MCR and cry?" Virgil hesitated for a moment, for he wanted to stay mad at the side, but his offer sounded very appealing.

After a moment or two of deliberation, he grabbed Deceit's hand and they ducked out.

Everyone shared a glance, each thinking the exact same thing; what the hell just happened?

"I have come to the point where I have given up trying to understand emos"

"Agreed"
