I had this in my drafts. No one requested this but I decided to upload it. I can't remember when in the last few days when I wrote this so I'm guessing it was during the night bc I don't remember doing anything. Just enjoy it ❤️

Y/n had lived in Barcelona all her life. She moved in with her grandmother when her mother passed and her father was sent to prison. Her life had been pretty bad to say the least. When she turned 18, she didn't go to school. She took care of her grandmother full time since she was in need of a carer. She couldn't keep the apartment with the money she was being given for her grandmother so she got a job in a bar as a singer. When she got tired of life or wanted to escape her problems, she took the midnight metro anywhere.

Charles lived in Monaco. He was what was determined as a "city boy" and it was assumed he didn't have any problems either which was the complete opposite. His life may have looked glamourous but in reality, it was struck with heartbreak and tragedy also. He drove for Ferrari in formula one and had to attend pre season testing in Barcelona. Thoughts tugged around in his hea dand he couldn't erase them. Usually, he would drive around but he couldn't. He didn't have a car so he did the next best thing and took the midnight metro train to anywhere..

Charles ended up outside a bar. He didn't have testing for a whole two days so why not get drunk? He walked in and sat down at the bar. The room was smokey and it reeked of wine and cheap perfume. He heard an angelic voice and turned to see who's lips the heavenly sound was coming from. He looked up to see a beautiful Catalan woman singing along to the music playing. He took a long sip of his drink as the pair shared a quick glance and a smile but it is if that glance had changed his life, mainly because it did. He had truly never set eyes upon a more beautiful, mystical creature in all his life. The angel on earth sang with her eyes, feeding raw emotion to the crowd with every word as she sang, making it almost impossible not to look at her.

Y/n walked up to her manager's desk to retrieve her money for singing as she did with every evening. "80" her manager uttered. "But it was "100 yesterday." she protested. Her boss didn't even spare her a breath and so, she walked away. She stepped outside of the hot club and out into the dusky early morn of the Barcelona streets and let out a sigh, hot breath letting a small breath of fog leave her lips in doing so. "Hey, youre the girl that was singing at the bar." a man said. Y/n rolled her eyes. Men usually recognised her coming out of the bar but tried hitting on her but they were usually drunk, this guy wasn't.

She turned to be met with the most handsome man she had ever seen. He had beautiful blue eyes and a little facial hair. His hair was pushed up to one side an dhís smile was soft and welcoming. "Yeah. I am and you are the guy at the bar that bought the most expensive drink on the menu." He smiled. "Well you're very observant." Y/n nodded. "You notice the these things. That drink is only ever made wqhen men with money come in because it is almait twenty euro but since you only bought one I'm guessing you aren't one of them."

"I'm not a snob if that's what you mean. I just didn't like the drink that much. It was a bit too strong for my liking. Almost like acid to drink it." That's the first time Y/n ever heard a person who bought that drink talk about it like that. "Finally, someone who knows when to stop drinking a drink." She says. "Where are you going?" she asked the man. "I'm taking the metro back to where I'm staying." he replied sharing a smile. "I'm heading to the metro too. Do you want to go together?" He nods and off the par went. "I'm Charles by the way." "Y/n."

"Is this your full time job? He singing?" Charles asked, desperate to know more about Y/n. "No, it's a part time job. I am a caretaker for my abuela. She doesn't wake up during the night because of her sleeping medicine so I go and work there for extra money to keep us on our feet." Charles admired how hard she worked. He may not have known every single struggle she has gone through and overcome but he still admired her aura of determination. It was truly admirable. "And what about you? What do you do?" she asked curious. "I drive cars." he said. "Like vintage cars or sports cars like Ferraris?"

"Ferraris mainly. They're beautiful cars." she laughs out loud as he looks at her in confusion. "I know what kind of car you drive. Formula cars. All the drivers are here in Barcelona for testing and I'm guessing you're a ferrari driver." He nodded. Charles felt as if he was in love with the woman but he didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and risk their conversation. "Yes. Completely correct. Do you watch it?" She shakes her head. "No but I know a few drivers. Hamilton, Vettel, Raikkonen, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Sainz and Alonso obviously and now I know you. Charles?"

"Leclerc and now I know a singer. Y/n?" She chuckled at his response. "Y/l/n and before you ask, I am from here, its my mother's name because I don't want to be assosiated with my father he's a bit of a lost case." He didn't dare ask her about her father but he imagined he must have done something truly unspeakable. "You aren't going to ask? I'm not complaining but people usually ask what happened." she said in disbelief. "I'll as if you want to talk about it." Y/n must have fallen in love too. She didn't want to be cliche but he was different than any other man she had ever known. "Thank you for being the first considerate man I've ever met." Charles chuckled. "You must have had a messed up life."

"Yeah but it sorts looks like things are turning around." She and Charles share a look, making each other feel butterflies in the pits of their stomachs. "But even if things don't, I find it's best to just-" Charles pauses. "Don't stop believing." Y/n smiled as she took in his words and hummed along slowly to the tun of Don't Stop Believing by Journey, making both erupt into a fit of laughter. "So when can I see you again?" Charles asked. "Whenever you want. I'll give you my number and you can come over." He nods and takes out his phone, handing it to Y/n to type her number in. She types in her number and double checks it before handing it back and smiles. "This is my stop. I guess I'll see you on TV?"

"And I'll see you in my dreams." He said as the metro doors slid closed and picked up speed, leaving Y/n to watch the train as it rolled out of distance, hoping she'd see the magical man within it, even if it was one more time.

A/N: Holy shit I got hella poètic during this. Got my first English essay sorted with this😂
