Y/n threw her phone onto her bed as she read the headlines each headline seemed to be the same thing just rewritten to sound different and it bothered her. Well it wasn't that, it was the fact that some journalists snooped into her private life and made up false statements when they couldn't find anything.

Y/l/n and Armstrong, the new racing power couple?

Everything you need to know about the new power couple in racing

The beautiful new couple that is Marcus Armstrong and Y/n Y/l/n

She flew onto her back on her bed and let out a groan in frustration. These were bothering her but it was the fans that were so much worse.

So Y/n is supposed to be this independent woman to pave the way for women in the sport and she's out here with a man? Oop

Marcus could have done better than that little bitch

She's probz dated every driver on the damn grid

She usually got hate for being a girl driver but the hate almost doubled. A knock was heard from her door so she got up and walked over. She was met with the face of her PR manager. "We have interviews now. Put on a happy face." He chirped. She walked behind him with her hands in her pockets. It has been almost two months since she and Marcus began speaking and she regretted it. She didn't regret seeing him everyday, not at all. She regretted that she hadn't done it sooner simply because if she had done it sooner no one could say she would have been closer to Marcus and it would have looked normal for them to be seen together.

"Y/n!" the Interviewer said, ripping through her thoughts. "How do you think you are doing in the championship this year?" She shook her head. "I think I'm doing quite well. I'm third in the championship which is of course good but we always want to do better than third, we would like to do as best as we possibly can." Her PR nodded his head, content with the answer. "There are rumours that you and Marcus Armstrong are the new hot couple of the paddock, what do you have to say about that?"

"I mean, we only really began talking a few races ago so I don't know why people are assuming things. My answer in short is, I don't know where anything will head, I'm just going to go along with it and whatever happens, happens." Once again her PR was happy with the answer. "Would you like to know what Marcus said?" She didn't think they'd ask Marcus. She usually gets asked stupid questions like this while other drivers don't so it took her by surprise. She nodded and he took out a bit of paper. "So he said 'She's a brilliant racer. I've known her most of my career because we did almost every competition together since we were twelve. I'm actually honoured people would think we were dating because to be brought up in even the same sentence as her is like an honour. If we do become a thing, it happens. I can't say how I feel about her now in a lovey dovey kinda way because I'm feeling some things but not a lot, but in the future if we do eventually you know, date then I'll talk' and that was his exact quote."

Millions of thoughts came pounding in but she had to respond. "That's really nice of him. I honestly feel the same but if as he said we become a couple in the future, it happens." The Interview is finished and she is let go and do whatever she wanted for a few minutes. She ran Striaght to the Carlin tent. Pushing the tent drapes open, she looks around for Marcus. "Where's Marcus?" she asked. The mechanics shrugged and returned working on the car.

Y/n bumped into Jack when she turned around. "You aren't moving teams are you?" he joked. "No not at all but if you're gonna keep jumps caring me, I just might. Have you seen Marcus?" she asked looking behind him. "He's with a girl." Her heart froze. After all he said, he was with a girl. She couldn't let him go now. She had to at least tell him how she felt. "Where?" Jack pointed down the paddock. "Outside the Ferrari lounge." He didn't even finish his sentence. She just heard Ferrari and sprinted. She reached the lounge but he was nowhere to be seen. She lost him. She's probably lost him ot whatever girl that he was with.

"Wait, she isn't in there?" She turns around to the sound of a familiar accent. Marcus. He was outside the Renault lounge. "I was told she'd be here. If you see her will you tell her I was here?" The mechanic from Renault nodded and walked back inside. Marcus turned around and kicked rocks as he walked away. Y/n jogged up to him, calling his name. "Marcus! Marcus!" He spun around and smiled. "Hey. I was looking for you." he said slinging his arm around her shoulder. "Who was the guy you were with?" he places a firm kiss onto her temple. She was confused. She wasn't with any guy. "I wasn't with any guy. Who was the girl you were with?"

The pulled apart and stared at each other and it hit them. Their bloody teammates set this up. "Christian told me you were with a guy." he said. "And Jack told me you were with a girl." The pair started laughing before returning to their little walk. "Why would it matter if I was with a guy?" she asked out of interest. He stayed queit, battling whether or not to just spit it out. "Because I kinda, sorta....I like you." Y/n stopped in her tracks, as did Marcus. He actually liked her back and this was her proof. "Well, I wouldn't say like because liking is for friends. I'd say love. I think that's the right word to use." She could cry. "I cannot believe this." Marcus looked at her chewing at the inside of his lip. "Well? Are you gonna say anything?" She jumped onto him, making both of them lose balance and fall. Y/n lifted her head smiling at Marcus. "Do you know how long I waited for you to say that?" He shook his head. "No but I'm guessing by the reaction, it was a long time."

"You're damn right it was!" She pushed hers le fup and helped Marcus too. They looked around and saw almost everybody staring at them as they walked by. Maybe jumping on him wasn't the best idea... "So what now?" she asked walking away. "I don't know. I think there's only one way to go about it." She turns her head to look at him but is interrupted by a kiss on her lips. She kisses back smiling.

-------------------

"I'm sorry but this would never actually happen! We don't even drive in formula 2 anymore!" Marcus laughs. "Leave them alone! They can think whatever they want!" Y/n says putting a stop to him. "Anyway, thanks for watching this episode of 'Reading Fanfictions' I guess. If you want to more from me and Marcus, subscribe and turn on post notifications. Bye!" The camera turns off and everyone returns to talking. "That was weird huh?" Marcus asked. "Good fanfiction though. I enjoyed reading them, not so much the person theyre about." A silence grew between us which never really happened. We were friends but what if I wanted these fanfiction to come to life?

Marcus' POV
What if I wanted these things to actually happen? What if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her? All these what ifs and all I need for it to actually happen is to tell her how I actually feel. I can't ell her, she'll think I'm a wuss. No. I will. I'll do it. I will tell her.

Back to Y/n
Marcus was about to say something but we were interrupted. "Y/n? I need to tell you-" "Okay. Media stuff now. Let's go!" Our PRs come in to take us away. "But. Just one second?" Marcus protested. "Now Marcus. We have a schedule and you can't mess it up this time." We stand up and share a hug before walking away and parting ways with a single thought tugging at my mind and his. "I wish those things were true."

A/N: girl you thoughtttt. I'm happy asf with that plot twist. Jesus. Even I was like OMG À PLOT TWIST😂
