Chapter 120: A hug

Hunter's P.O.V.

"I know I don't exactly have the best history when leaving this house-" "Like running away." Luz mentions. "Well ye-" "And getting kidnapped by The Emperor." Edric brings up. "Please, just trust me. Just give me a chance." I place a hand on Edric's shoulder wanting him to trust me.

"Ok. Fine." Everyone looks at Luz who actually agrees with me. "He's doing it for a good reason. Be just wants us safe. And he could always just teleport away with his artificial staff. And a second staff would be great to work with. Maybe we should just give him a chance." She continues.

Edric gives her a look which says 'Seriously?!'. "Luz has a point. Are you sure you won't get caught again?" Eda asks me, sounding slightly hesitant. "I'm 100% positive." Edric looks at me like he's ready to rant.

I get up and walk to my artificial staff. "Hold on! I think you should maybe relax first!" Raine calls out. "Don't worry. It'll only be for a few minutes." And I rush out the door before anyone tries to stop me. "Hunter! Sto-" And I teleport away in a flash of red. Edric can be so convincing. He doesn't need to be charming. Simply I just find it hard to go against my emerald.

And I arrive to town, but on a roof of some building. Not sure which as I'm only on top. Can see a few guards already. This won't be hard. Just need to piss people off and make a scene so people won't think I'm back at The Owl House.

Yet another flash of red clouds my vision till it becomes back to normal. I was gone for only twenty or whatever minutes. "HUNTER!" Edric dashes out the door and runs to me. He must've been waiting for me the whole time.

Great... Now I'm gonna get the scolding of a lifetime. Just looking away in annoyance as I hear his fast paced steps. Ok... Just say whatever you want. And he grabs my arm. This causes my breath to hitch in horror. I know he'd be angry, but not like this. Is he just like Belos...?

Without any control, I look to him with fear but noticing he's just looking at my arms, then my fave. He's not going to hit me. He's just been worried if I've been hit.

"Edric, I'm fine." I let out a small laugh of relief as my eyes soften while my eyebrows follow. And I uncontrollably smile too. He'd never do anything Belos would do. He'd never hit me. He actually worries about me. I couldn't ask for anyone better. And with those thoughts, I hug him. Have I hugged him before? I only remember him hugging me.

He gives me an awkward pat on the back before too hugging me.

(The next chapter will be a three year timeskip. What should happen in the future? Like Luz living with her mother? And what about the day of unity? Should it have killed anyone? Because I want the coven heads to be alive. No idea what would happen. Hunter and Ed will be 19. People Luz's age will be 17.)
