Chapter One Hundred Twenty Two – Liam

Liam laughs as Zayn obviously checks the clock, again. They've been home from dropping Bella off at school for two hours now, and Zayn has been pouting and checking the time repeatedly ever since. "Zayn, Love. She's fine, yeah?" Liam tries, in an attempt to calm his husband, as Zack pulls himself up with Zayn's pant legs. Zayn coos down at the boy who babbles happily, before Zayn turns to look at Liam again, "I know, I just miss her" he mumbles. Liam frowns and drops to sit beside Zayn on the couch, as Zack let's go of Zayn's leg and then falls gently back onto his bum. "I miss her too, but Zee, this is all a part of her growing up" Liam murmurs, as both Chloe and Zack let out a squeal. Zayn smiles at the two babies, before he sighs, "I know. But I don't want her to grow up" he mumbles, and Liam grins at him. "I don't either, but it's going to happen anyways, Babe" Liam soothes, Zayn let's out a frustrated groan, and flops against the back of the couch, "Baba" Chloe babbles from his feet and Liam looks down at her "someone wants you" he coos, scooping her into his arms, and passing her onto Zayn, knowing his husband will keep her from falling. Zayn shakes his head and wraps his arms around Chloe, "it's the only thing she knows how to say Li" he grumbles, before making faces at her.

Liam looks around for Zack as Zayn cuddles Chloe close to him on the couch, their only son is proving to be quite the troublemaker already and Liam doesn't even want to think about what he's going to be like as a teenager. Sighing Liam gets up and heads towards the kitchen, where he finds Zack pulling on a few of the baby proofed cupboards, attempting to open them all. "What are you doing Bubba?" Liam hums, and Zack turns to look at him, giving him a drooly smile, before he abandons his task and crawls towards Liam, reaching up for him, "can you say Daddy, Bubs?" Liam coos as he scoops the boy into his arms. Zack giggles, stuffing his fist in his mouth, but doesn't say anything. "I'll take that as a no then" Liam hums, carrying the boy from the room. He smiles when he sees that in the five minutes he was gone Zayn and Chloe have both fallen asleep on the couch, "like father, like daughter" Liam chuckles, shaking his head. "What do you say, you and Daddy go finish some work?" Liam hums, Zack's response is a head shake, "you say no to everything" Liam chuckles carrying him down into his office.

Zack's clumsily stacking blocks on the floor beside Liam's desk, while Liam sends a few emails that he needs to get done, "Dada dada dada" Zack babbles suddenly, and Liam's head snaps away from his screen to look at the boy, who is clapping his hands happily. "Did you just say Dada?" Liam asks, Zack grins, and stuffs one of the blocks into his mouth, "no Bubba, you don't eat them" Liam hums, pulling the block from his mouth, "Dada" Zack whines in response. Liam chuckles, "you did say Dada" he exclaims and Zack claps his hands, "wait 'til Baba hears about this" he adds. Zack just looks at him, before he slowly starts stuffing the block into his mouth again, maintaining eye contact with Liam the whole time. Liam chuckles, shaking his head and sighing, "you really are trouble, you know that Zack" he sighs, before he scoops the boy back up and heads upstairs to see if Zayn and Chloe have woken up yet.

Once they get upstairs Liam sees that Zayn is no longer on the couch, so the younger man must be awake, but he can't see him anywhere. Zayn comes downstairs a moment later from the bedrooms, "Chloe's in her bed" he explains and Liam nods. "So guess who else just said their first word?" Liam exclaims, bouncing Zack, as the ten month old squirms in his arms. Liam chuckles and sets Zack down onto the floor, "stay out of trouble, Bubba" Liam calls after him, of course being ignored as Zack crawls into the kitchen. "Zack's talking too now?" Zayn practically whines and Liam chuckles, "yeah. He said Dada downstairs in my office" he explains. Zayn pouts and Liam pulls him into his arms, "all my babies are growing too fast" Zayn whimpers. Liam coos and pecks Zayn's head, "yes, but they all still need you, will for the rest of their lives" he hums. Zayn sighs and pulls away, "we should go and see what the little troublemaker is into" he mumbles, stepping away and walking in the direction Zack crawled off in, Liam following behind him. They find him once again pulling on all the cupboard doors, in an effort to open them all, "what does he think is in there?" Liam asks amused as Zayn scoops the boy into his arms, "all the good stuff, why else would we keep him out of it" Zayn teases. Zack babbles, before reaching for Liam "Dada" he cheers and Liam smiles, taking him from Zayn's arms, as Zayn cheers, "good job Bubba" he exclaims clapping his hands for the boy's first word.
