This is one of my favorite songs in the world. Normally, I can't choose a favorite song. But this one... this one has to be it. This song means the world to me. I love it. Same with Home by Phillip Phillips and You Are Loved by Set it Off.

STORYTIME!

It's raining. It's pouring. The ally cat is snoring. The old dog down the street is resting his aching feet so he can dance in the sun in the morning. Rain is a really strange thing. Rain seems to be the best Creativity Spark for Roman while also being the most depressing thing in the world. Roman conjured a great big window in his bedroom so he can watch the rain hit the glass. He also conjured a fireplace for even more background noise. Roman is no composer, but he learned a few tricks from Jamahl after writing "The Things We Used to Share" and "On the Boarderline" together. Roman took out an acoustic guitar. It's really similar to a ukulele, Right? And tested the chords.

Roman turned the guitar and sat there in his casual wear. He didn't bother wearing his prince clothes that everyone sees him in. He decided that gray sweatpants and a red long sleeved sweater that has the phrase let boys be feminine printed on the front in pink would be enough.  He wasn't wearing socks or shoes either. His hair was a mess and Roman let out a deep sigh. He decided to flick the same chord again a few times. He didn't know what he wanted to do. All he knew is that he wanted to play music in this rain. That's when he remembered one of the best songs he knew in his childhood. It never failed to make him smile. Roman conjured some of the sheet music and read it over. How did the chords go with the notes? Ah, yes. Like this.

Roman began figuring out how to play Hey There Delilah by then Plain White T's. However Roman was going to change it up a little bit to fix whatever depressive yet creative slump he was in. After figuring out how to play this on his own he decided to go ahead and start playing the song. Roman didn't bother reading the sheet music once he began strumming the guitar. He knew this song like the back of his hand. Roman fared at the rain, crossing his legs in the windowsill to keep his feet warm tucked under his legs. Roman took a deep breath before leading himself into the song, having played an extra two bars beforehand to get him ready to sing.

"🎶Hey there my Darling, what's it like in New York City? You're a million miles away, but boy tonight you look so pretty yes you do. Town square can't shine as bright as you. Hey there my sweetheart, don't you worry about the distance. We'll be together in the future, so give this song a listen. Close you eyes. Listen to my voice, it's mt disguise. Until you realize... Oh it's what you do to me. And oh, it's what you do to me.🎶"

Two verses and a chorus in and his music flooded out of the door he forgot to close all the way. Down the hall inside the mind palace Logan was leaving his room to go get another refil of his green tea, because coffee is for squares. Logan heard Roman's vocals and couldn't help but get enchanted. Logan May despise signing himself, however he couldn't resist hearing someone else he particularly enjoyed sing. Vocal wise not emotional wise. Logan feels no emotions. Logan walked down the hall to Roman's room to see the door opened about a two inch crack. Logan pulled the door back a bit to see Roman staring up through a window that shouldn't be there with an acoustic guitar resting in his lap.

Logan couldn't help but smile. Logan entered the room and closed the door silently behind him. Just because he was logic didn't mean he can't enjoy some of creativity's songs. Logan adored this genre of calmer music. And it's not Disney! Logan sat down on the ground on his knees, setting his empty tea cup at his side and conjuring a fluffy navy blue blanket. Roman's room was cold for some bizarre reason. Roman didn't notice Logan at all, coming to appreciate his greatness. In fact, Roman would never expect in a million years that Logan would appreciate anything he did. He only thought Logan despised him and they were forever cursed to be polar opposites.

"🎶Hey there my darling, I know times are getting rough. But believe me, Boy, we'll get through it 'cause we're tough. We'll have it good. We'll have the life we knew we would. Because we should. Hey there my lovely I've got so much left to say. If every song I wrote to you took your breath away I'd write it all. Even more in love with you I'd fall. Give me a call.... Oh, it's what you do it me. Oh, it's what you do to me.🎶"

Logan ended up closing his eyes, enamored with the sounds coming from Roman's guitar. Meanwhile Roman sighed and bridged into the next part, powering through like how the song should have it.

"🎶A thousand miles seems prettt far. But I've got plane tickets and rental cars. I'd walk to you if I had no other way! Your friends would all make fun of us and I'd laugh at them just because I know that I love you any way! Darling, I can promise you by the time that we get through the world will never be the same! And you're to blame.🎶"

Roman let out a deep breath. Of course he had someone on his mind while he was signing all of this. But he'd never love him back. And it's not a boy in Thomas' life. No. It's a boy right here in the mindspace. Roman was modifying the song already in a parody. Roman bit his lip, playing the guitar to lead into the next verse. He swore he left the door closed. Even so he used his powers as an imaginative being to soundproof his room so nobody has a chance of hearing this last verse. Roman was passion! Roman was love! He needed some way to express these feelings even though they would never be reciprocated.

"🎶Hey there, My Logan you work hard, I wish you'd kiss me. Two more seconds, I'll go crazy. You make history just like I do. We're better because of you. Compromise because we want to. Hey there Logan, here's to you. I love you. Oh, it's what you do to me. Oh, it's what you do to me.🎶"

Logan was shocked to say in the least. Romantic feelings held towards him? Logan felt a warm sensation in his chest. What was this anomaly? Logan became a deer in healdlights, paralyzed and too scared to move. He watched Roman shift his body, untucking his legs from underneath eachother and slumping his shoulders down. His body language showed melancholy. Logan felt a gravitational pull towards Roman in this moment, as if pure instinct. Logan decided to stand up, ignoring his blanket and teacup, and approach Roman. Emotions and Ego Boosts are very important to Roman, as he has observed, so maybe... if he tried something... it wouldn't hurt? And Logan wanted to? He was so conflicted.

Roman was about to stand up and go walk over to his fireplace. His feet were really cold and he'd appreciate sitting by the fire he created. Roman flinched when he felt something on his shoulders. Who was in here!? Did they hear the last verse?! Roman felt his blood go cold in a flash when he saw rhe familiar face accessorized with the black framed glasses. Logan. Logan was in here. Logan heard him. Roman braced himself for whatever lecture and rejection he was about to face. Roman as ready to get heartbroken again. But... no. Instead he felt a warmth on his forehead. Roman opened his eyes he didn't realize were squeezed shut and looked up at Logan, demanding an explanation.

"I may not comprehend the reason behind emotions or understand the entirety of feelings sometimes... however I'm willing to try to research if you wish to help me."

Roman felt the tears weld in his eyes. In Nerd speak, that meant Logan was willing to try a relationship with him. Roman never felt so vainerable while at the same time so empowered in his life. He was used to feeling conflicted emotions, so he didn't care. Roman cwrefeullt set down the guitar and sprang up off the windowsill, flinging himself into Logan's arms and giving him a big peck on the cheek.

"I love you, Specs!"

Logan hadn't a single clue what to do. From what he's seen in the romantic movies that the other sides watch on movie nights Logan is supposedly to reciprocate this feeling and tell him the same words back. Perhaps that's what the warm feeling in his chest was. That's half down. Logan cleared his throat and for the first time in a while: smile when he spoke.

"I love you too, Roman."
