I feel like Animal Crossing has changed me, at least temporarily. I feel so pastel and sweet and wholesome and I want to reflect it in my writing. So here we go!

STORYTIME!

Patton was having the most wonderful day of all days. Everything is great, everything is grand, he had the whole wide world in the palm of his hand! Everything is perfect, it's fslling into place, he can't quite wipe this smile off his face! Life's a happy song now that he's got someone by his side to sing along. Patton was dancing around the small flower shop he worked in, happy to be on shift. He tidied up the bouquets and made a few floral arrangement he foresaw some customer finding appealing. The little bell above the door rang and Patton turned around, cheering out to whoever was coming in.

"Welcome to Barry's Blossoms! Have fun looking around! Oh, hello Virgil!"

Patton recomgnized that the customer walking through the door was, in fact, his best friend. He weakly smiled and tightened his grip around his tote bag strap. He looked around and paused in front of the violets and purple roses Patton assorted with him in mind. Virgil does try to visit the shop as often as possible. Patton hummed as he plucked a yellow tulip from the bouquet and twirled it between his fingers. Virgil must have noticed Howe lovestruck and spacey Patton was, because he smirked and made a snide comment

"Looks like someone's in a good mood. I wonder what could have caused that? Maybe a certain Law School Student who took you to get coffee the other day~"

Oh yeah, that was definately it. Patton sighed wistfully, slouching down against the wall with his hands over his heart. He had this look in his eye that Virgil knew all too well. He was absolutely smitten. He knew Patton wanted to dance around the room, kiss his date's lips until they turn blue. That handsome stranger turned Patton's Insides Into jelly. Backstory time: a clean cut man walked in one day while Virgil was hanging out with Patton during a long shift and wanted to get a bouquet for their mother. Patton felt deep attraction at first sight. Patton was convinced it was soulmates, fate, or a horoscope. Virgil believes that Patton is just overthinking it and that he found the person aesthetically pleasing so his mind made up an excuse to fall in love. They both learned that the person was a Law Student and was exclusively androphilic.

"Logan. Logan Harvard is their name. They're Agender and They're so polite and formal. They love suspenders, neckties, bowties, And dress shirts. They're so smart and caring. I got them to smile! And they said they don't smile often! Their smile was gorgeous, Virgil, GORGEOUS!!! Je les aime tellement..."

Oh lord. Patton was busting out the french. This was serious. See, Patton was born and raised in France until he was eleven years old. Sometimes when he gets overwhelmed with too many feelings, normally joy or love, he will slip back into his native tongue. Virgil had to take this seriously. This wasn't just a squish. This was a crush. This was infatuation. Patton was serious about this person. Virgil felt his shoulders relax as Patton began lovingly looking at the yellow flower, spinning it around yet again in his fingertips. Virgil has to get to know this person. He needs to make sure they're worthy of Patton's love. Patton's last serious crush definately wasn't worthy...

"Logan Harvard, huh? They seem to make you super happy. Be careful with your heart, Patton. You know how easy it is to shatter it."

Patton nodded and grinned, not even registering Virgil's words of wisdom. Patton pushed himself off the wall of the small little flower shop and began dancing around, entering his own little world. Virgil stepped out of the way, watching his best freind very carefully. Patton was so naive, he can't look out for himself. That's why he needs Virgil. Virgil has to look out for him. However, Virgil couldn't help but smile wide at seeing his best friend so happy. He deserved to feel like this again. It was so nice and refreshing to see Patton so relaxed. Out of nowhere, Patton's nonsense mumbling became singing. If only Virgil could hear what instrumentals were running through his head, because his tune was really wack.

"🎶Ma Belle amante, en vile. Travailler poir in avenir où poisons vivre. Bonheur. Joke. Je T'aime. Je T'aime. Je T'aime tellement.🎶"

The only words that Virgil knew were "Ma Belle" which is my beautiful and "Je T'aime Tellement" which is I love you so much. The rest I see google translate doing its best to Virgil. Patton kept wandering around, absent mindedly standing the flowers into little heart shaped patterns with the colors. He found himself favoring the yellow and red flowers, for passion and joy. Virgil loosened his grip around the tote bag, comeplrtely letting go and crossing his arms over his chest uncomfortably. He was so worried, so concerned for Patton.

"Ma Belle, Ma Belle, Ma Belle~"

Patton whispered a small chant while organizing a navy blue assortment filling around a cute yellow heart with a singular baby blue cosmo in the center. Cosmos were Patton's favorite: so simple yet so beautiful. Proof that less can be more. Virgil sighed to himself, letting his arms hang at his side. Maybe he should just let this happen and not even interfere. Patton needs to learn and grow, right? Besides... Virgil looked at the person on his phone with his charming smile and eyes shining in with his red shirt. Maybe he should just focus on his own love life for once.

"As long as you're happy, buddy."
