A cry for help

Oh my gosh you guys I'm so so so sorry for not updating! I have been hectic busy! Anyway this was requested by Positive__Unicorn warning this has mentions of rape and abuse so if this triggers anything then I suggest you skip on to the next chapter. Also this takes place before ski lodge but after the college party episode so Josh and Maya are not close yet.

Maya jolted awake panting as she gasped to get her breath. She looked over at her alarm clock and sighed as she read the big red numbers. 4:22 AM. Maya wiped the sweat that was on her forehead away and pulled the covers off of her. She knew there was no way she was getting back to sleep that night. It was the same dream she had been having for the past week now and every time she had it she would be afraid to go back to sleep.

Maya went into the kitchen and started to make her some hot chocolate in one of her favorite mugs that Riley had gotten her for Christmas a few years back. After she pored the cup and sat down she started to think about the dream she had.

Maya was walking after dark back to her apartment building. She and Riley had finished their homework over at Topanga's cafe and after walking Riley home, Maya decided to take a short cut since it was getting colder.

"Well what do we have here?" A voice said with a sinister laugh. Maya's blood ran cold as she started to pick up her pace and look around for a store that she could run into and hide out for a few minutes.

"She's a pretty one." Another voice said making Maya bite her lip. Suddenly a hand reached out and grabbed onto hers before pulling her into an empty alley. Maya tried to scream but one of the man put a hand over her mouth.

"Don't you dare." He said in a low voice that sent shivers down Maya's spine, and not in a good way.

"Please let me go." She begged as her breathing started to get out of control. One of the men started to laugh.

"Awe how sweet. I love a good beggar."

Maya wanted to throw up. She pulled her knee up and got the guy that was holding her in the crotch. He groaned and pulled away from her but before she could get away the other guy grabbed her, shoved her into the wall and hit her right in the jaw. Not hard enough to leave a mark but hard enough to where it would hurt.

Maya winced as she looked down at the ground and blinked back the tears.

"That's going to cost you." And just like that Maya was brought to her knees.

"Maya?" Maya jolted out of her trance and looked up to see her mom staring at her in concern.

"Hey." Maya said as she put a fake smile on her face. "I couldn't sleep." She stated making Katy sigh.

"Sweetheart this is the fourth time this week. Are you feeling okay?" She asked making Maya shudder at the thoughts of the events that took place a week ago.

"Yeah I just... I guess I've taken up being an insomniac." Maya said chuckling at her own joke. Katy on the other hand did not laugh. In fact, she just kept starring at Maya with a concerned look.

"Okay. Well I have to go in early so I can get off tonight and be at the Matthews for dinner. Will you be okay?" Katy asked as she grabbed her jacket and put it on. Maya smiled.

"Yeah I'll be fine." Maya said. Katy nodded her head before going over and kissing Maya on the cheek.

"I'll see you tonight." Katy said before walking out the door and leaving Maya alone.

Maya called Riley and told her that she wouldn't be picking her up today. That instead she would just see her at school.

"That's the fourth time this week, Maya. I'm starting to get concerned." She told her making Maya sigh.
