"Mr Stark, I don't feel so good." Peter spoke. I turned around to look at him and my eyes wavered as the boy that I was in love with was slowly turning to dust.

"Peter, no." I choked, rushing towards him. He took one step towards me and then collapsed into my arms, his hands gripping my shoulders as his legs started to disappear. I sunk to the ground with him, his head on my lap as I cradled him.

"I don't want to go." He choked, looking between Tony and I with tear-filled eyes.

"It's okay, kid, we've got you, you're okay." Tony reassured, though we all knew that he was lying, as all we could do was watch Peter disappear.

"I'm sorry." He gulped before looking at me.

"Peter, don't go, please don't leave me." I cried, gently running a hand through his hazel locks. He reached a hand up to cup my face, and I couldn't help but wince as within seconds of him touching my skin, his hand also disappeared into dust.

"I love you." He nodded, tears rolling down his cheeks. I shook my head as he tilted his head slightly, his eyes wandering away from me as he disappeared completely into ash, the hazel curls that my hand was only just against, now gone. I sat there for a moment, my hands pressed against the rock that Peter was only just lying against, my skin caked in dust.

"Mr Stark, bring him back." I mumbled, looking up at Tony. He just sat there, also in shock at what had just happened.

"I'm sorry, kid." He muttered.

"No, Tony, bring him back, please." I choked as I stood up and rushed to him. He sighed, a tear leaving his eye as he stood up and looked at me.

"Do something, stop just standing there! Do something, bring Peter back!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face.

"He can't." Nebula spoke, kicking a piece of rubble. I looked at her.

"You're wrong! There has to be something, you can't just let him die like that!" I screamed, starting to hammer my fists against Tony's chest.

"Hey, hey." He spoke, grabbing my upper arms. I choked, not wanting to look directly at him because of the tears also rolling down his face.

"He's gone, Y/N. Peter is gone. They're all gone, okay? There is nothing we can do. I'm so sorry, kid, but there is nothing we can do." He shook his head, staring right into my eyes.

"Peter." I choked.

"I know." He nodded, gently pressing my head into his chest. I sobbed into his shirt, balling my hands into fists around it as I let Tony cradle me.

I snapped back, looking around as I did. I sighed as I was sat in Peter's apartment, my hands clasped together as I sat on the sofa opposite May. Tony stood behind me, his arms crossed over his chest and both of us in the suits that Scott and Bruce had designed for the time travelling.

"So, let me get this straight, just, one more time." May spoke, giving us an obviously sarcastic smile as she held up a finger. I gulped and looked over the back of the sofa at Tony.

"You're going to travel through time, and get all of the infinity stones before Thanos does, and then one of you, but you don't know who yet since the glove will kill any human who uses it, will snap their fingers and return all life that was blipped away five years ago, just like that." She spoke. I gulped.

"It's a gauntlet, not a glove, but apart from that...pretty much." Tony nodded. May looked between us.

"And that's the grand plan you came up with to get millions of people back, including my nephew, are you crazy?" she scoffed, looking at Tony.

"May, this is our best shot to get everyone, including Peter, back. It's risky, but Scott has so much experience with the quantum realm, he believes that it'll work, Tony has run the calculations countless times, and they've all come back positive for one hundred percent success. This is our best shot at getting him back." I nodded.

"And you," she scoffed, leaning forward and taking my hands. My eyes widened slightly as I felt like I was about to be told off, but I knew that that was unlikely, given the gentle-natured woman that May was.

"You know better than anyone that I've lost a lot of family. I lost Peter's parents when he was four, I lost his uncle Ben ten years later, and then I lost Peter. I lost the only person that I still had, until you came along. Whether or not you like it, you're my family now too. And I can't lose you too, I can't handle that." She shook her head. I sighed, giving her a small smile.

"Thank you, May, that means a lot. But I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think that there was a good chance that we could get everyone back. Surely, it's worth the risk of me not coming back, if it means you get Peter back." I nodded. She returned my sigh and looked at me.

"I can't talk you out of this, can I?" she asked. I shook my head, making her sigh again as she looked at Tony.

"You listen to me. You protect her, no matter what. If I can't have Peter back, Y/N is all I have left, so if I see a single scratch on her when she comes back, I hold you responsible, mister." She warned, pointing a finger at Tony. I couldn't help but stifle a laughter at her tone as I looked at him.

"Not a single hair will be out of place if I have anything to do with it." He reassured.

"Good." May sighed before standing up and hugging me tightly. I returned it, a tear leaving my eye at the magnitude of the task ahead of us. She pulled away, but held me at arms' length.

"Bring Peter back to me. And if you can't, you come back to me." She nodded.

"I promise, May." I returned. She sighed, giving me a small smile before letting me go.

"Let's go, kid." Tony spoke, opening May's front door. I nodded and walked to him before stopping and looking at May again.

"See you soon, May. I'll have Peter with me." I promised.

"You better." She smiled, but it was only half convincing. I returned it before leaving the apartment with Tony.
