Tom's P.O.V

Tom sat in the makeup chair, watching Y/N's latest interview with James Cordon on his phone as he waited to go onto the show himself.

"You sure that you guys are not more than just friends? I'm sure that you're aware of the many rumours that surround you two, more specifically the ones that suggest you're dating." James smirked as he asked about Y/N's and Tom's relationship status. Tom chuckled at Y/N's cuteness as she smiled and shook her head.

"No, no, as much as I love Tom, we're just friends. Close friends, sure, but just friends." She confirmed. Tom's smile dipped slightly as he listened to the comment that he wanted so badly not to be true.

"Okay, okay, I believe you. But if not Tom, then who? Who's your celebrity crush, Y/N?" James asked, biting his lip. Y/N's eyes widened slightly, and James' smile widened as her cheeks flushed red.

"Okay, so that confirms that there is a crush, come on, Y/N." he chuckled. She laughed and buried her face in her hands, a slight twang hitting Tom's heart at the thought that his crush might like someone else.

"Oh, god, okay. Well, just between us, and I guess the several million people that watch the show, I did sometimes wish that something had happened between Tom and I." Y/N admitted. James' eyes widened, as did Tom's as he gulped. Had Y/N really admitted on international TV that she liked him more than a friend? Tom felt like he was dreaming right now with how perfect the situation was.

"So, you're telling me that your celebrity crush is Tom Holland, who you played the love interest of in Spiderman, and still nothing happened?" James scoffed.

"I'm really bad at that kind of stuff, and I didn't want to jeopardise the friendship that was already there for a hypothetical relationship that may have never happened. So, I guess I picked temporarily hurting myself, and keeping Tom as a friend, over risking him not feeling the same, and us not being friends afterwards." Y/N shrugged, looking down at her skirt. Tom sighed as he put his phone down. He couldn't help but feel bad, after all, he had been the one who had decided not to make a move on Y/N, ironically for the exact same reason that she hadn't made a move on him. He hadn't wanted to risk their friendship, but had he known that she felt the same way, he wouldn't have thought twice about it.

"Mate, you ready?" Tom looked up to see Harrison walking into the room.

"Yeah." He nodded as he stood up and headed out of the room with Harrison. He walked along the corridor, giving the occasional person a small smile as he headed to the stage. He opened the door, welcome the familiar sight of the "Late Late Show" stage as he walked towards it.

"Tom, how you doing?" James smiled, reaching out his hand.

"I'm good, mate, how are you?" Tom returned as he shook his hand.

"You know, same old. I'm no Spiderman." He joked, making Tom smirk as he sat down on the closest chair to James' desk.

"We're live in three, two, one." The cameraman spoke.

"Hello and welcome back to the Late Late Show, I am James Cordon and I'm joined tonight by the one and only Tom Holland!" James announced, making Tom smile and wave to the audience as they cheered.

"So, Tom, "Spiderman: Far from home" is now out in cinemas, and I believe broke a few records this weekend. How does it feel?" James asked.

"Honestly, mate, it feels incredible. It was an amazing movie to make, I've spent an incredible six months with my best friends and all of the brilliant cast making it, and I'm so proud of what we've all achieved. I just hope that everyone at home loves it as much as I do." He smiled, laughing as the audience cheered loudly.

"Speaking of your best friends, did you see my latest interview with your co-star and love interest in Spiderman, Y/N?" James smirked. Tom chuckled slightly, looking down as the audience made "ooh" sounds.

"Yeah, I did. It was a good interview." He smiled, trying to play it cool. After all, he was about to do exactly what she had done: announce who his crush was on international TV.

"What did you think of what she said? Specifically about you being her celebrity crush and that she wished more had happened between you two?" he asked. Tom took an internal deep breath.

"Honestly, I'm glad that she said it because I feel exactly the same way." He admitted, nodding and crossing his arms over his chest. James' eyes widened and the audience gasped.

"No way." James smiled.

"Yeah, man. I mean, why wouldn't I feel the same way? Y/N is beautiful, kind, tenacious, I love who she is as a person, not to mention the fact that we spent six amazing months together filming Spiderman. And I'm not embarrassed to admit that I did develop feelings for her in that time, and I also wish that something more had happened." He nodded. He couldn't help but laugh as the audience cheered and clapped, James' beaming smile telling Tom that he'd made a good choice.

"Well, folks, you heard it here first, Tom Holland and Y/N Y/L/N have crushes on each other, am I a matchmaker or what?" James asked, throwing his arms into the air and making Tom laugh as the audience cheered.

Y/N's P.O.V

I sat on my sofa, hands shaking slightly as I watched Tom's interview with James Cordon.

"Speaking of your best friends, did you see my latest interview with your co-star and love interest in Spiderman, Y/N?" James smirked. Tom chuckled slightly, looking down as the audience made "ooh" sounds. I gulped, my heart in my stomach as I waited to see where this would go. Probably to the end of Tom and I's friendship, knowing my luck.

"Yeah, I did. It was a good interview." He smiled.

"What did you think of what she said? Specifically about you being her celebrity crush and that she wished more had happened between you two?" he asked. Tom nodded slightly, a barely noticeable movement.

"Honestly, I'm glad that she said it because I feel exactly the same way." He admitted, nodding and crossing his arms over his chest. James' eyes widened and the audience gasped. My eyes widened and I gasped slightly, finally letting out the breath that I didn't realise that I'd been holding.

I bit my lip in a weak attempt to stop my smile from widening as I realised what I was watching. Not only was Tom admitting that he felt the same way for me as I did about him, but he was doing it in the exact same way that I had done it. Tom laughed as the audience cheered and clapped as James smiled widely at him.

"Well, folks, you heard it here first, Tom Holland and Y/N Y/L/N have crushes on each other, am I a matchmaker or what?" James asked, throwing his arms into the air and making Tom laugh as the audience cheered. Suddenly, my phone buzzed next to me. I looked down at it and my eyes widened.

Tom: Hey, can we talk? :)
