Y/n pov:

I slipped on my little cardigan over my dress and looked at myself in the mirror. This would do. After sorting myself out, I walked all the way to Benny's apartment.

When I got there, I hesitated for a second before knocking on the door. He opened it almost instantly, greeting me with a smile.

A beeping sound came from inside the apartment making his smile drop.

"Fuck" He groaned running back inside.

I followed him inside, putting my bag on his table with the chess set.

"As you can probably tell, I can't cook for shit" He said " Takeout?"

"Sure" I smiled.

We got some pizza and st eating for a little while. It was very quiet and kind of awkward.

"Sorry, this didn't go to plan" He sighed.

"It's fine, I prefer this anyway"

"You do?"

"Yeah, it's more relaxed"

"Oh, well, I'm glad then"

"Well its getting kind of late" I stood up " I should get going"

"Right" He nodded.

I went over to the door to leave but heard rain. Brushing it off I started walking up the stairs but saw it was chucking it down.

"Uh, did you walk here?" Benny asked.

"Yeah"

"I don't think it's such a good idea to walk home in that"

"I could just get a cab?"

"Or you could stay here for the night?" He offered.

"That's o- you know what sure"

I went back down into his apartment.

Six months later

"Benny!" I called "BENNY!"

"Yeah, I know!"

I continued my phone call with Beth when Benny came out of the bedroom, rubbing his temples.

I heard crying again so I gave him a look and he groaned going back in.

"Sorry, Beth, I should go now"

I went into the bedroom to find Benny leaning over the cot. I went and picked her up, taking her into kitchen as Benny followed.

"I just think she hates me"

"She doesn't hate you Benny" I laughed " She just likes teasing you"

"Yeah, too much like her mother"
