Author's Notes:

Happy Friday! (For people who are at Friday 😊) Counting down to the weekend!

This chapter is kind of a wrap up to show how people around them love and support them. I read some comments around this and that triggered the thought for this chapter. 😊 I hope you enjoy it!

Special thanks to @Artiejjie for proof-reading again!

Thank you once again for all your comments and ❤️. The fake rumors caused many of us grief during that time but I think it helped to get us to the happy state we're in today so I'm not so adverse to it now 😂. Still, I'm glad to get the chapter out.

There will probably be another one or two chapters on this period, my current thought is to have little stories to cover all the smaller events that happened during this period (lol, like the peaches 🤣) If anyone has ideas/events that could be included, do let me know, thanks! ❤️

Have a great weekend!

Kang Kun Taek

At twelve midnight local time or 7am Seoul time, Hyun Bin placed a call to his mentor, Kang Kun Taek.

The call connected on the second ring.

"Seonsaengnim, good morning," Hyun Bin greeted. "I hope I didn't call too early."

Kang Kun Taek snorted, "I've been waiting for your call. It's fine, you know I start my day early. Is Ye-Jin alright?"

Kang Kun Taek had been flabbergasted about the dating news. Where on earth had that come from? He had immediately given the VAST PR team instructions to issue a denial. That had stopped further delusional reporting by the media but the damage was done. He had been worried about Ye-Jin.

Hyun Bin sighed, "She's alright now but it doesn't change the fact that she was shocked and hurt by it."

Kang Kun Taek lost his smile. He was not surprised, but it was still upsetting to hear this. He continued, "You spoke with Jin-Wok yesterday and heard their findings?"

Hyun Bin's tone hardened, "Yes and I agree with the assessment. This has to be orchestrated."

Kang Kun Taek nodded in agreement. He personally did not subscribe to the practice, but it was common for some agencies to use scandals when they needed to raise an artist's profile. Sometimes any news is considered better than no news.

After a moment, he asked, "What do you want to do?"

Hyun Bin's jaw ticked as he clenched his teeth. He was torn. "Seonsaengnim, I don't want to blow things up but I can't have another repeat of such rubbish."

Kang Kun Taek sighed, "Tae-Pyung, you know as well. The easiest way to stop this is to go public. Have the two of you considered this option?"

Hyun Bin fell silent. He did know. He had spent the last hour debating with himself. Objectively, Kang Kun Taek was right, going public was the easiest way to stop the false rumors. Personally though, he balked at the idea.

He explained, "Seonsaengnim, we will go public one day but on our own terms. If we go public because of this news, everything we've done to protect our relationship becomes a joke. Ye-jin and I can't accept that."

Kang Kun Taek sighed, he had expected this. Going public was not something they could do without involving Ye-Jin. Admitting their relationship in response to the news would be symbolic of giving in to underhand tactics. Even if Hyun Bin was willing to compromise on himself, he would never accept that for Ye-Jin.
