Chapter 2: Hyun Bin's Family Dinner

Hyun Bin's parent's house

"Happy Birthday Mum!" Hyun Bin gave his mum a warm hug.

"Thank you, Tae Pyung." She looks expectantly behind her son. "Where's Sora-shi? I was looking forward to meeting her. Everyone knows about the two of you and I haven't even met her once."

"Ah, she's busy today and can't make it. She sends her apologies and regards." Hyun Bin tried to gloss over his girlfriend's absence. The reality was that they have not met up in the past month and he did not have an appropriate chance to invite her.

"That's so unfortunate, you have to bring her along to the next family event." Mrs Kim continued as she brought him into the living area. "I really want to get to know your girlfriend."

"Okay Mum, next time. This is for you, I got it when I was in Paris, I think you'll love the design of the earrings." Hyun Bin tried to quickly change the topic. As his mother showed off the present to his aunts, Hyun Bin walked over to his father and elder brothers to greet them. They all have busy schedules and he treasured these opportunities to see them in person. Girlfriend grilling aside, the evening was exactly what Kim Tae Pyung defined as quality time spent.
