Author's Notes:

Just slightly more than a day to go! 🥰🎉🍾🤵👰

Thank you so much for waiting for the chapter and apologies it took so long! I wanted to finish over the weekend but didn't manage to complete. But was definitely going to post this before the wedding!

This chapter touches on the build up to the wedding 😁 (hahaha, it's good timing) and I hope you enjoy it! The next time I update, BinJin will be married!!!

Have a great week ahead! (how can it be bad 🤣😆😋)

Project 1: Thirty-Nine

Hyun Bin ran the last few steps and dropped the piping hot bowl of egg-drop soup. He cursed softly as it landed on the table with a loud thud. He winced as he held his fingers against his earlobes to cool them. Bowls conducted heat really well!

Ye-Jin was lying on the sofa reading her script and she sat up when she heard the thud. From across the room, their eyes met - hers startled, his sheepish.

When she hurried over, he quickly explained, "I'm fine. I was just surprised by how hot the soup bowl was."

She checked his hands and when she confirmed that he wasn't injured, grumbled, "That's why we have kitchen mittens! Do you think you're the Avengers!?!"

She was glaring at him with narrowed eyes yet his mind was filled only with thoughts of how adorable she was. He swallowed back his laughter, knowing she would not be amused. "I'll remember to use it the next time," he promised contritely.

Ye-Jin gave his reddened fingertips one last rub. She should have insisted on helping him with dinner preparations. He had filmed for eighteen hours straight the day before. It was a small miracle that he hadn't injured himself more seriously.

Hyun Bin read her mind and softly squeezed her hand. He wanted to cook dinner for her tonight.

For the past month, filming commitments and managing Vast occupied all of his time. Ye-Jin had taken on the responsibility of  running their household. She ran errands, prepared his meals, cleaned and and represented them at social events - she even organized his mother's birthday lunch two weeks ago! He finally had a couple of days off and wanted her to rest and enjoy a meal prepared by him.

He pointed to the spread on the table. Apart from the egg-drop soup, he had made stir-fry eggplant and potato, rolled eggs and her favorite tteokbokki.

Ye-Jin's eyes curved into her signature eye-smile. The dishes were simple but priceless. It was from his heart. He had been busy but she never once felt neglected - because he had her in his heart.

"Let's eat," he smiled.

As they dug into dinner, Hyun Bin noticed the script Ye-Jin had placed at the edge of the table. She was reading it when she rushed over to check on his hand. "Thirty, nine," he read aloud. "Is that the slice-of-life drama you mentioned?" He could see the bookmark protruding from the end of the book. She was almost done reading.

Ye-Jin took a big bite of tteokbokki, nodded enthusiastically and licked her lips.

He laughed. Was she excited about the script or the tteokbokki? "How is it?" he asked.

She swallowed her food and replied mischievously, "Delicious as usual!"

He smiled, placed another piece on her plate and said, "Have more then." She knew what he was asking.
