Author's Note:

Firstly, apologies for the false alarm yesterday! I wanted to save the file and accidentally clicked on published instead and I had to I publish. 😭😭  The update today is real 😁

A light-hearted chapter today. Dong Wan gets his dinner - although HB still landed on top (this time) 🤣 There was news that they were sighted in Daegu during Chuseok - the second story leverages off that (thank you to the readers who reminded me of the sighting and also the suggested closure to the fake rumors). We'll also start to build towards Jan 1 from now 🥰

Thank you for reading, your votes and your feedback/comments! I really enjoy reading all of them ❤❤❤

Again, thanks to @Artiejjie for editing!

I hope you enjoy the chapter and have a good rest of week!

Story 1: Dong Wan's Dinner

The Day Before Dinner

Hyun Bin was in his study clearing paperwork so he could take a few days off during the upcoming Chuseok holidays to visit Ye-Jin's parents in Daegu.

Knock, knock. Ye-Jin stuck her head in and asked, "Tae-Pyung, I'm going to the supermarket. Do you need anything?"

Hyun Bin stood up and offered, "Tell me what you need, I'll go pick it up."

Ye-Jin shook her head, "Don't worry, finish your work. I'll go. I want to choose the ingredients myself."

Hyun Bin's brows furrowed in puzzlement. "Are you still buying fresh ingredients? We're leaving for Daegu the day after tomorrow."

Ye-Jin gasped loudly. She had forgotten to tell Hyun Bin about the dinner tomorrow! She smiled sheepishly, "I knew I forgot something. I have invited Dong Wan for dinner tomorrow."

Hyun Bin's eyes widened. Dong Wan?!? He opened his mouth but found himself speechless.

Ye-Jin laughed at his incredulous expression and asked, "What's wrong? Is it so surprising? I want to thank him for taking such good care of you in Jordan."

Hyun Bin finally found his voice. He spluttered, "That's his job. He's paid. You don't have to cook for him because of that!"

Ye-Jin narrowed her eyes at Hyun Bin. Was this the type of boss he wanted to be - unappreciative, calculative and mean?

Hyun Bin squirmed. He didn't mean it that way. Well, actually, he did but he didn't want it to sound that way. He mumbled, "Why don't you get him a gift instead? Like when you came back from LA? (A/N: Chapter 53) That's also showing appreciation."

He saw Ye-Jin's exasperated look and capitulated. With woeful eyes, he said, "It sounds like you have a lot to buy. I'll go with you to help carry the stuff."

At the Supermarket Carpark

Hyun Bin has been waiting in the parking lot for thirty minutes.

He had maintained his outward façade of repentance throughout their journey to the supermarket. He would be an idiot to get into trouble with Ye-Jin over this. He listened to Ye-Jin chatter excitedly about all the dishes she wanted Dong Wan to try. He smiled on the surface and stewed on the inside.

Now that he was alone, he grumbled to himself, "Sundubujjigae, stir-fried egg-plant, potato pancakes, chapchae and even stir-fried webfoot octopus!" Why should Dong Wan get to eat all of this?!

Now, Hyun Bin was not a stingy man and especially not with Dong Wan. Despite their frequent bickering, they were as close as brothers. Hyun Bin trusted and valued Dong Wan enough to sign him a blank cheque.
