I sigh as we pull up to a fancy looking hotel, Chris and Rebecca glance at each other before turning around to face me, I feel like a child sitting here in the back.

"Remember, he's probably-" Chris begins, but I wave him off as I'm already getting out of the car.

"Yeah, I know, I'm the backup plan if all goes to shit." I mumble, crossing my arms as Rebecca gives me a small smile.

We head inside, the place is practically empty apart from a few staff wondering about. Before I can take another step Rebecca gently grabs my arm. "Just wait a few minutes, if we don't come back with smiles, well then it's your turn."

I huff a laugh and nod, leaning against the wall as Chris and Rebecca head towards the room with the bar. Dismissing their instructions right away I follow them just enough, stopping around the corner so I can listen into the conversation.

"Careful you don't scare the locals." Chris teases as Leon sits at a table by himself, a glass in hand with an almost empty bottle beside it.

"Your stealths for shit." Leon grunts, barely looking over his shoulder as Chris frowns.

"It's a little early to be that deep in the bottle Leon." Chris scolds. I purse my lips together as I peek around the corner to get a better view. Leon turns around looking pissed off for a split second, luckily he doesn't see me.

"Well look who it is," Leon sarcastically says with a fake smile, "the B.S.A.A's golden boy and doctor high hopes." Chris sighs as Rebecca gives him an uneasy look.

"What the hell do you want?" Leon gruffly says, dropping the sarcasm.

"I got a job," Chris begins like we planned, "we need your help."

Leon looks at Chris with surprise for a split second before chucking. "I'm on vacation." Leon turns away from them, dismissing them both without a care in the world. I clench my fists and take a step forward, but Rebecca gives me a subtle shake of the head, so I stay put for now.

"Let's talk about Los Illuminados," Rebecca begins, carrying her case to a nearby table, "Remember the type of B.O.W.s they were using?"

"It was so long ago I don't remember." Leon mutters, toying with his glass. I roll my eyes, who's he kidding, Leon remembers everything, it's one of his best and worst traits.

Chris' anger spikes up. "So what, you're just gonna sit around here another week and do nothing?" He says, gesturing at the bottle on the table.

Leon doesn't even look up as he blunty responds. "I never make plans that far ahead." A few tense seconds pass until a waitress passes the table.

"Hey!" Leon calls out waving a hand, "another bottle here." I scoff as she heads towards them.

"Cancel that." Chris frowns, Leon begins saying something but Chris is clearly done, he slams a fist down on the table and growls "Enough! Alright?"

I almost laugh at the way Leon stares at Chris in a mixed state of disbelief and anger, I run a hand through my hair as I nervously begin to prepare to face Leon head on, at this point it might be the only way to get through to him.

"What do you want Redfield?" Leon grits out.

"What do you want Leon?" Chris challenges. Alright, enough is enough.

Leon goes to grab a flask from the back of his jeans just I approach him just in time to snatch it away. Leon's eyes widen as I frown down at him, slamming the flask on the table.

"Cut it out Leon!" I snap, even after a few years Leon still looks at me with that same schoolboy crush gaze, my heart skips a few beats remembering how we used to be together, until he began drinking and I couldn't stand it, so I left.

"Really, they brought you here to convince me?" Leon says as he tries to cover up his emotion.

I nod, grabbing the chair closest to me and sitting opposite him, forcing myself to not look away. "We need all the help we can get." I sigh, my shoulders deflating.

Leon's anger seems to dissipate with mine. "I don't even know-" he begins, but Rebecca finally chimes in.

"We think you might have some intel and we need it. Now." She says professionally as she sits beside me. Leon's eyes dart to mine as I nod encouragingly.

Leon sighs as he shrugs a single shoulder up in defeat. "What intel?" I smile at him, glad we could finally get through, I notice Leon doesn't exactly smile back at me, but his eyes soften as he listens, glancing at me the whole time as I fidget with my ring.

It's only a few minutes later when I realise the ring I'm wearing is the same one Leon gave me a month before we broke up.
