Virgil walked home, a box in his hands. He made sure to walk carefully, being extremely careful not to drop the box. As he came up to his house he shifted the box so he was holding it with one arm, he fished his keys out of his back pocket and attempted to unlock the door.
After a few attempts he got the front door unlocked, when he came in he shut the door behind him.

"Roman?" Virgil called out, looking around as he tried to see if Roman was home or not.
"Yeah babe?" Roman called out from the living room, Virgil sighed, hoping that he wouldn't be home just yet.
"What's wrong?" Roman walked into the kitchen, where the front door was, and saw how suspicious Virgil looked.

"What's in the box?" Roman asked, walking up closer to Virgil and trying to peer inside of it. Virgil set the box down on the counter and stood in front of it to hide it from Roman.
"It's confidential."
"And why is that?"
"Because I said so."

The conversation went on like that for a little while, eventually Virgil took a step forward and wrapped his arms around Roman, trying to be flirty to divert Roman's attention from the box.
"What are you doing?" Roman looked down at his boyfriend questioningly, he knew that something was definitely going on and Virgil was clearly hiding it from him.
"I'm being a distraction...You know we haven't watched a movie together in forever, lets go cuddle and binge watch Disney!" Virgil tried to pull Roman away from the kitchen and into the living room, but failed miserably and accidentally let Roman go, giving him the perfect opportunity to look in the box.

Roman gasped when he saw what was inside, he opened it up a bit further and picked up one of five kittens.
"They're precious! Why would you hide these babies from me?" Roman asked, looking back to Virgil.
"Does that mean we can keep them?" Virgil had a wide smile on his face, ecstatic that Roman wasn't mad at him for bringing home so many cat. "I had found them outside of the store and I just couldn't bring myself to leave them there, I knew they needed a good home and we can provide that for them." Virgil explained, hoping to pursue Roman into letting him keep all five.
"Virgil, we can't possibly take care of all of them. Do you know how expensive that would be? And how disgusting the litter box would be with five cats?"
"I'll do litter! I can do it. Please Roman. Please." Virgil was now standing next to Roman, holding a cat as well. The cat he was holding was probably the runt of the litter, the smallest of the bunch. He was the lightest shade of brown with streaks of black. The fur around his nose was complete white and he was down right adorable.
"Babe, you know we can't. We can keep one but-"
"Two! Please." Virgil looked back down, feeling guilty for being so persistent and whiney.
"Fine, we can keep two." Roman sighed, returning the kitten to the box and running his hand through Virgil's hair and smiling as he saw the adorable smile on Virgil's face. He always loved to see Virgil so happy.

"So, which ones are you going to keep?" Roman asked, looking down at his excited boyfriend.
"Definitely this one, I've already named him Bobb6 because he's adorable and I love him. I mean look how tiny he is bed precious." Virgil held up the small kitten in his hands and Roman couldn't help but chuckle. He leaned in and gave Virgil a quick kiss before looking into the box at the kittens.
"They're all so tiny, they can't be but a few months old" Virgil smiled at the kitten he was petting.
"What about three?" Virgil asked with pleading eyes. Roman hesitated for a moment, wanting to say yes because of the cute face Virgil was giving him.
"No, we can't. Sorry babe." Roman felt bad but Virgil didn't look too disappointed, knowing that there wasn't a big chance of Roman saying yes to adopting three baby kittens.
"What should we name the other one?" Roman asked, still looking in the box
"We have to pick another one first." Virgil reminded him, looking into the box as well.
"I like that one. She's cute and tiny." Roman pointed at a pure white kitten, she was a short haired cat so she wouldn't shed too much.
"Then let's keep these two." Virgil couldn't stop smiling, he put the kitten back in the box and took them all to the living room, Roman following right behind.

They let the kitten's roam around in a confined corner of the living room. They had taken pictures of the other three and put it on an adoption website, they planned on giving them all to good homes and so they'd wait for as long as they needed until they waited for families to adopt them.
